no more school at Gordon, but I'm afraid of wasting my life for another semester or year. I need a job. and to go to another school.

Re: The Fair to Middlin' Thread
I'm learning about all sorts of fascinating, twisted events in the history of the United States. Stuff like Ruby Ridge, David Koresh and the Branch Davidians, and Timothy McVeigh. It's so incredibly interesting, but now I'm a little more afraid of office buildings and overly zealous religious folks.

Re: The Fair to Middlin' Thread
yeah, I read McVeigh's entry on Wikipedia and I have to say that by the time I was finished reading, I felt more sorry for him than I felt angry at him for doing what he did.
and what kills me is that he was so obviously brilliant, and to do something as stupid as what he did... that kills me. his brains could have been used for far more productive things.

I'm tired. I'm at D&D, but I really want to be home watching Buffy too...NEED to be working on my script, though.

Most of the Torchwood DVDs I got don't work, but I could watch a fair amount.

Re: The Fair to Middlin' Thread
it's rather cold out.
but I'd rather it be cold like it's supposed to be (being that it's December and officially winter) than in the seventies like it's been for the last five days until yesterday.
at least the weather is appropriate for the time of the year. *grr*

I'm angry over worthless assholes that I shouldn't even be wasting energy upon, but at least I know they're worthless assholes who aren't worth the wasted energy.

I have so many friends that plan on taking over the world.
I'm eager to see who pulls it off in the end.

Re: The Fair to Middlin' Thread
I saw the doctor yesterday. she increased the dosage of one of my cholesterol pills, listened to me tell her about my oh-so-fucking-shitty week and panic issues, and gave me a referral to another psychiatrist (I never called the other one).
my first appointment is on March 4.
I'm scared I won't make it.
but then I have surprised myself before.

Re: The Fair to Middlin' Thread
*Comic's gonna start updating again this week, and it'll be a run of at least 9 this time. How many more just depends on what goes on in real life during the weeks while these are updating.
*Work's been dead all month. I haven't sold a single thing in probably a few weeks, and we didn't make our diamond remounting event. It's an outdoor mall though, and it's January...it wasn't as though we weren't expecting it.
Got internet back for now! The rest of this post is copied over from LJ, so if you've already read that then there's nothing new here. Basically a catchup of what's been going on since I've last been here.
*The Glass Menagerie was cancelled when we found ourselves mere weeks before opening without anyone to play the role of Tom. Hopefully it'll be rescheduled at a later date...I was really looking forward to playing Laura.
*Rehearsals for Mame start up in the beginning of February, as well as auditions for Narnia...Not sure what I'll sing for the audition yet. Debating between a song from Sunset Boulevard and a song from Chicago.
*I've been working on some paintings to put in a gallery downtown.
*After a few years of mild winters, we finally got an ice storm yesterday. And today. Iced in...woo. As my car's not even good in rain, it didn't like the wintery roads too well...even though I was going reeeeally slow trying to get home from work, it still spun me all the way around...so I (somehow) parked across the street instead of trying to get into my own parking lot. Walking across the street proved to be quite the difficult task...I'm glad I was wearing my boots, and not any of my shoes with high or narrow heels!

when I don't have to be somewhere, I actually kind of enjoy ice storms.
except for when they knock the power out. o_O

Re: The Fair to Middlin' Thread
Me too, they're really pretty. I'm not nearly as fond of them now that I'm driving as I was when I was in elementary school though. When I was in jr high/high school I used to get my mom's old ice skates out from the basement and skate around the yard when it iced. For some reason it was actually easier (and much more fun) to skate out in the yard (even though it certainly wasn't flat!) than it ever was in an ice skating rink.

Re: The Fair to Middlin' Thread
it was probably a LOT less painful if you fell, too--even though you still fell on ice.
the first time I've ever seen an ice storm was about six or seven years ago in Oklahoma when my family and I were visiting for Christmas. it was BEAUTIFUL. but we were iced in and supposed to go home THAT day... and we had to wait a day (we'd rented a van)... and even then, for about three or four hours, we CRAWWWWLED. and I saw at least five or six different cars in ditches.
my dad drove south into Texas a bit so that ice wouldn't be as much of a problem, and we made it home. and just barely twenty-four hours behind us was another big storm coming. we made it home JUST in time.

Re: The Fair to Middlin' Thread
You know, I don't ever remember falling whilst ice skating. I'm sure I have...but I just don't remember it if I did. :/ Same for roller skating (sorta. remember falling a few times when I was little...still no bad ones, though).
Man I'm sick of this...a lot of it melted yesterday, and the rest shall probably melt over the next two days...but dammit, I want to get OUT! On my own...without walking or taxi riding!
