I used to not be able to walk from my home to the main street without getting hassled by up to five (I used to count) various people giving me money (it's a ten minute walk). They range from people selling postcards for charity (mind you they never have a proof by which I can positively identify if the money is really going for charity) and those selling season tickets to theater (ironically, the most pushy) to those who claim their wallet was stolen and they have to buy a buss fair or just some dudes hanging in front of supermarket who've drank all their beer money and want more.
They are unrelated and different categories, but I was amazed by how many people and operations rely on people giving them money. It's gotten better since then though. Anyways, I got burned a couple of times big time so I grew rather callous about it.

I know right? this whole situation needs to turn on its head. what if people with extra money went on the subway trains and gave away money instead of asking for it?

So how far away are you...in miles if you don't want to say the place? ;)
We're in Kidsgrove, which is 73.4 miles away according to Google. I'm almost in Cheshire really, I'm from Cheshire and I work there.

Today I learned about boxing in combatives level 2. I'd missed the past two two-hour long sessions of practicing footwork, throwing punches, and combos, so I pretty much got a crash course in jabs, crosses, hooks, combos 1-5, footwork, breathing, pivoting, uppercuts, and throwing elbows (this is Army combatives, after all).

So I'm rather sweaty, my shoulders and trapezius muscles are aching, and my hands are kinda shaky.

I feel fucking badass. :D

Sounds very badass Laem!

I'm currently having fun translating an Angry Birds doodle/colouring book from English into Norwegian. Minimal text and good pay - I could get used to this!

Also contemplating to change my name by deed poll. I already use a different name for certain things and a few of my weird relatives seem to enjoy stalking me online. Especially my sister. And not in a sisterly "just want to know what you're up to" way. But it's a big decision so I'm taking my time.

I have this turtle-shaped chocolate from Easter that I've been eating. The problem is it's adorable. It just looks so cute and happy that I want to keep it forever instead of eating it. I started at the feet so that I could keep the cute turtle face for longer. But now I'm getting up to where the arms are and soon the day will come. I don't know if I"m going to be able to handle it, you guys.

(my level of patheticness is beyond what you already expect. I alraedy took pictures of it so that it wouldn't be "lost forever," but am still feeling sad and motherly toward it. Just to reinforce what is happening here- I am feeling emotionally protective of a molded Easter chocolate turtle.)

So I get up a couple mornings ago, all ready to fly back home after vacation. The vacation itself could be a post, but I digress.

I wake up to my connecting fight being delayed. No big deal, I'll just be stuck in Minneapolis for an extra hour.

Then a second delay (before I even get on the first flight.)

By the time we land, there is a third delay.

The plane itself was at least two hours late arriving, exclusive of any delays we may have picked up.

Naturally, about this time a heavy storm rolls in. It shuts down the airport for an hour, and we are constantly reminded to stay away from windows during the storm. I tell one of my companions we must stay away from the windows because of "snipers."

When the storm ends, someone at the counter does the math in her head, and figures that the crew has timed out. Not in the "hit f5" sense, but in the "working longer than 16 hours" one. They decide to see if anyone is on call to fly an emergency flight back to Pittsburgh, but nobody is around.

So.... yeah.

Now we have about 200 people who are really unimpressed at waiting in an airport for five hours. And the airline was originally just trying to say since it was "weather related", all they could do is give a discount ticket for a hotel, or maybe ask the MSP airport to bring out some cots.

We did talk our way into a free hotel, but still were stuck in Minneapolis overnight. If that wasn't bad enough, it was without our bags.

At the airport we did see a little girl say "Daddy, I'm going to be si*BELLLLLCCHHHHH*" though. So I guess her day was a little worse. And I think that family got totally hosed and had to cot up at the terminal.
