The one thing that I didn't already know that they said in the video, though, was that pigs go insane from the lack of mental stimulation in the factory farms. I don't think that's propaganda; pigs are among the top ten or fifteen smartest animals on the planet. It's not going to stop me from eating pork....but I do think the poor things could use some better treatment.

And no, my ethics aren't weak, they're nuanced.

For example, chimpanzees might be the second smartest species on earth. I'm still prepared to allow medical testing on them before human trials. As smart as they may be, it's medically and legally necessary to try out chemicals on something before we let people try it.

I still think the animals should be treated well, even if they might die. Humane treatment of animals is important to me.

Likewise, humans have been eating pigs for millenia. I have no problem with people, including myself, wanting to continue. However, I do think that the pigs could be treated a hell of a lot better during their lives.

Feel free to disagree with me, sure, I can definitely see same ways to attack the argument. But at least use some kind of....relevant....analogy.
