Well it kinda started over here, and well what can I say... its not the first time music has derailed! we'll try to be better next time!

Also congrats.

Geez, you talk a lot! :P

Good news: I'm finally allowed to go home tomorrow! HUZZAH :D
In 2,120 days, I've managed to average 7.54 posts a day. That's not even one post every six hours. I don't talk much. I barely talk at all!

And besides, I'm a full ten-thousand posts from overtaking first, and barely holding onto second.

Congrats on getting out of the hospital!

It's wrong that it's an outpatient procedure. Do you get a foley catheter? *evil grin*
My day is complete if I manage to confuse someone. :D And I have no idea (nor am I going to google it) what a foley catheter is, but I'm only getting general anesthetic. It's literally only like a 5-10 min surgery, though you REALLY have to wonder about the poor saps back when they were first learning how to do this.

I'm only speaking for myself here, but somehow I never have anything to say on the topic of what's being discussed there, and it feels rude jumping in with something completely different.
You can start by saying what music you listen to right now. There's several paralel conversations going on at any time, there's always Senshi, Duff and sometimes Dawg discussing rap and new jack swing, and Keff, Phact and me talking about indy rock, but other musical genres that we aren't interested in are a fair game too.

It feels like that thread has different treatment from all the others. The amount of postwhoring and offtopic is uncharacteristically low, as if people feel that, of all threads, that is the one that should stay strictly on topic, or a few sub-topics that have been talked about so far.

Surprising that I'm still so far up the first place. It seems to me that lately I just browse the thread, decide I have nothing to say, and go back. :eyebrow:

anyone who wants to discuss any variety of electro should come to the music thread! I feel so lonely having conversations with myself. *l*

I think people just get scared off by all the indie conversations. If anything you can hear new music! Think of the positive! I know I've heard new music by the suggestions!

Ten thousand posts is a pretty large margin to overcome.

Surely you mean local anesthetic? General is when they knock you unconscious and then you're all messed up for the rest of the day... or at least that was my experience, since I got general anesthetic for my wisdom teeth, and that may have been related to the vicodin they gave me, which turns me into a space case. For my shoulder surgery I got a nerve block, that will also mess you up pretty good.

Also be afraid of catheters at all times. I've never had one but it's a small tube that they stick in through your small orifices and word on the street is that it's extremely uncomfortable. However I believe that they make a small incision, cut the vas deferens (the tube that sperm goes through to get from testicles to penis) and then cauterize it with a small electric soldering-iron-type thing. Or they can tie it up or something too, but I think mostly they cauterize now since it's quick, easy, and permanent.

This is one of those things that I just kind of picked up information somewhere and I'm not sure where, so as I am not an actual doctor, don't take my word for it.

So....I've been thinking about it for a few months, and like...I miss snuggles. Yes, people. Real, deep snuggles. I don't even think I want a boyfriend for the company, I just really want it for the snuggling. Does that make me a whore? You don't even have to be a straight dude. Be gay if you wanna be, or hell, even a girl. I just want to be snuggled T_T.....kay, I'd prefer a straight man XD but whatever.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that despite working my ass off for 2 years trying to find political jobs and doing part time clerical work and doing through college, I may graduate with no job, even though I'm qualified for tons.

A snuggle would be grand right about now.

Oh, and BEFORE anyone gives me shit like "OMG tons of people are in your situation" or "you live off your mom, what do you have to cry about", I'm saying in advance, leave me alone. I have 23,000 dollars to start paying back by November, and I'm not excited about that.

Laibach, Pankow, Front 242 etc. Can you recommend anything new in the industrial/noise vein?
Oh I'm just arround it a lot. I did actually link some harder Electro stuff a while back, but I'm unsure how hard you wanting. some of favourite hard electro bands are Rottersand (which just a super band composed of bands I don't like haha), Wynardtage, bruderschaft, and Davantage. Though not sure if you know but Pankow released a record about two years ago, and we are waiting of Nitzer ebb to finally release their new one.
Hard is good. I like it when there's some melodic hook as well. And yep, I know Pankow's "Great Minds Against Themselves Conspire" from 2007. A very nice album of delightfully unpleasant soundscapes. Although, much like KMFDM, Pankow haven't really broken any new ground for over a decade. Not that I'm complaining...
Phact0rri wrote:btw have heard stuff like Wumpscut, funker vogt, and haujobb? Kinda classics but can never go wrong there either.
I've heard the names, but not their music. I'll check them out, and the podcast as well. Thanks! :)

Though I don't have much to say I'm taking notes of everything. List of reccomendations I gathered is too long and I'm picking randomly from it, but one day I might stumble onto something great and go "oh yeah, Phact reccomended this".

No, that's pretty much how it goes. And yeah, I meant "local" instead of "general", I'm an I.T. guy, not a doc... I just know they're numbing my nether regions with SOMETHING, and that's fine by me. :p

I think thats part of the fun. I don't check out everything thats mentioned. but I do a bunch of it, or I'll be at a used record store and go "huh MCD likes this band a lot why don't I pick it up and see how it sounds." Good times. I honestly will say talking to you all have helped me get back into some styles I hadn't listened to in a long time. Gapping away from my usual digest of electro and punk styles of musics.

Con in three weeks woooo.
I'm grumpy at myself for not finishing the Pumbum book in time to get it printed and shipped here for AN, but oh well. Lots of minicomics I can throw together, got about fourteen different button designs to sell, and all manner of random prints and a shenanigan book. So hurrah.
Excited, whee! Image Now I've got to think about displays - my table usually looks pretty damn Baby's First Con and I want to fix that.

Word on the street confirmed... my best friend had one when she was delivering her baby and they didn't believe her that it was painful as all hell. Took us about half an hour to convince them to take it out too. Hospitals like catheters. Image

Hospitals are bitches about catheters. The only plus about a foley catheter? If you can't pee... and your bladder is just filling and filling and you wish you could rip your belly open just to get it out, then the pain of a catheter aside, they really do provide relief.

Take a tube the diameter of your pinky finger, and invade your body with it through a hole you never thought things would be going into. Deep into. And not in a sexy way.

Oh, and when they take it out? Yeah... your body doesn't provide a lot of natural lubricant in the duct that it's thread into, and it is a rubber tube. Expect some stretching and a painful snap with associated recoil when it finally comes all the way out.

I'd really rather take a bare-fisted beating than have another foley catheter. It'd be a no-brainer.
