I've mixed feeling, i'm kind of sad it's the end, and happy because that was a great story that i followed through the years.

Yeah, I think it's the mixing of squares and curves. I may play with it a little bit and try to find something better.
*pokes the forums* Any comments about the comic itself? It's gotten very quiet around here, lately.

Very true, but I like to know what I'm doing right / wrong.
Well, it'll be a bit, but I'll post a 'favourite character' thread after Scene 1 ends and there's even a modicum of exposure to them all.

Well, the scenery is a bit lacking in props and all of the armored knights look exactly the same(well its armor, but still). Not that you didn't show plenty of variety with the unarmored people. Perhaps they could have decorations based on their unit?
Seriously though, the background could use some dirt patches, or some flowers, or tall grass. Though I'm sure this is something that will come over time as you build up a bigger variety of sprites. Still, good first effort.
There, hope I was helpfull?

Ooh! Unit patches for the knights, I love it! I'll have to much around a bit to figure it out, but I think I may do that next time armoured folks start showing up.
Yeah, I noticed the background problem myself. Unfortunately, at the moment I'm a little short on background objects for outside (I have a shrubbery.) Having thought of that, though, I took care to write a reason into the plot, which should reveal itself soon.
Thanks for the advice.

*nods* When the first Patchwork Heroes got reviewed, one comment that someone gave me was that the viewpoint and perspective were always the same, and that it was really boring. I almost rejoined that sprite comics always did that, but I realized... there's no real reason for that to be true, except that 8-Bit Theatre and Bob and George did (and, perhaps ironically, that was something pretty different for them, since most comics at the time were using traditional art switching perspectives).
Regardless, I thought I'd give shifts a try. I'm liking them so far.
Glad they're working.

Good memory.
Yep, the two knights who made a brief appearance back in http://yeti.comicgenesis.com/d/20041022.html, and stayed for a bit were indeed Order of Thorns. Everything that got explained back then will be re-explained, though, as time goes on.

Ah, but Jonathan isn't a mage. The Cutleys are a pure line, a-yep. No mages in their history whatsoever, nope.
(As an aside, there is one more main cast character with an ancestor from the subcast, but it's a bit harder to spot.)

Ok, maybe not so hard to spot after all.
In all seriousness, Jonathan and Daniel are non-mages; only Patrick's little squad are the magical folk. Hopefully, this scene will make that increasingly clear for those folks who don't read the forums.
