I notice the same problem with my links page because of the dropdown, but I don't mind much.

It randomizes the list, takes a sampling, and then sorts the sample, so it does take a second or two. If someone uses your links page every day to check their comics, that might get annoying. If you want to have a "dropdowns" page, so it doesn't slow down your links page, I wouldn't object.

Like I said, it doesn't bother me. All the links banners load fine, as do the link-to-me ones. The only thing that takes a moment is your dropdown. I don't think it's a big deal.

I found dropdowns and comics on the following sites:

Darken
DragonMail
Dungeon Damage
Wild Hunt
Elven Lacryment
TheElven

The following comics had the dropdown and were on hiatus

Risky (obviously)
Elven Fate
Elven Deities
Legend of the Four
Misadventures of the Drow Wizard
To Live in Emeralds

Anyone not on the first list needs to contact me.

Anyone not on either list either didn't change their code or just removed the dropdown without telling. :/ Or just doesn't have a comic anymore.

Can you add my comic to the dropdown list?
Name: bluebug
Comic: Kurenai Mashin (http://km.keenspace.com)
banner:
Description of my comic: For years, a blind elven assassin has taken on the world that has shunned him ... and won. But when he encounters an elf from a rival Clan, he is given an opportunity that he can't refuse. Now the question is, can he survive her?
Reason: My comic ... has elves? I assume that's a good enough reason. About 90% of my cast is elven.
To be added shortly.

Call me Wendybird. Email me at qwanderer7+lgcomics@gmail.com

My comic is The Elves of LleuGarnock at http://lleugarnock.comicgenesis.com

The village of LleuGarnock is entirely populated with elves, including the two main characters.

The story of two grumpy teenage elves, a twin brother and sister, who must work together to save their world.

p.s. I put the java thingy on my main and links page but it isn't showing up. It's in the source code so it updated properly and everything.

p.p.s. I fixed it on my links page by changing url= to src=

Oh good, it looks like someone else posted recently, I was afraid this was dead.

1. Your name (what to call you)
I am Luminance, posting on behalf of everyone because there are like seven of us.
2. Your email address (where to email you about code changes, etc)
We have a community email, drowloveistoughlove at gmail dot com iirc but it doesn't get checked very often. If it's urgent send it to cpriebe at digipen dot edu instead, that gets checked daily.
3. The name of your comic (Important!)
Drow Love is Tough Love, abbreviated to Drow Love or DrowLove if I hate spaces that day.
4. Your comic's URL
http://drowloveistoughlove.comicgenesis.com
5. Why your comic is KeenElven material (Like, does it have elves?)
Four drow, two elves, and a half elf, actually. :3 We've got a LOT more drawn than what's up there, last I checked, we're set for daily updates until... November? We're still in the "old, bad art" comics, I swear it gets better after we all figure out how to draw backgrounds and stuff.
6. Your banner (200x40 jpg, gif, or png). Should not be annoying. Black matte.
Image
Not sure what "black matte" means precisely, if you'd like a different banner, it's no trouble for me to make one, just let me know.
7. A short text ad for your comic (a blurb, for the links page)
oh, none of us are any good at writing these. D: I usually just hope the banners speak for themselves.
"Four drow, two elves, a half elf, a human, and a halfling travel to the Underdark. What will happen, we do not know."

Black Matte just means that the background your banner will appear on is black, so the banner shouldn't look weird on a black background. :)

I'll make sure to check your sites and add you next update. Welcome to the dropdown!

Awesome, thanks! It seems that imageshack is blocked on the forums, so if you didn't manage to get the banner, I also uploaded it here: http://i25.tinypic.com/dh9t20.png

I'll try to get the dropdown on the site ASAP, but the one who does the website is currently offline! I'll let him know when I see him next and try to get that done by tomorrow.

You're on there now. If you refresh the dropdown a few times, you'll even see your banner come up as the top one.

Awesome, thank you! You can abbreviate to Drow Love if you like, we all call it that anyway and it's SUCH a long title. :D

Oddly enough, it's not the longest title. Misadventures of the Drow Wizard is probably the longest, that one gets egregiously abbreviated.

Dear god, I must seem like a hassle. >_>

On the Keenelven page, the link to DrowLove does not work because "tough" is spelled as "tought" in the URL. :D;

Sorry for all the trouble, haha. If we'd thought of it'd we'd've just gotten "drowlove" as the URL.

It should probably be Black Mat, since "mat" is the paper put around a photo when framing, whereas "matte" means not shiny.

Matte has other definitions. You could google it (try "define matte"), check wikipedia, or just check the help section of your graphics application. To expand on my previous explanation, in compositing the matte is the border or halo of an object, particularly in cases of antialiasing, that is responsible for those white speckles around transparent gifs when they are placed on a non-white background.
