It's changing though... no .. but i also found out that some people need to stand up and fight and educate.. i mean.. i didnt know about transexualism until my what early twenties.. until then i had NO clue what it was i was feelign and that in fact it could be fixed...

Of course... crusaders are important! I'm happy because my college doesn't just have a LGBTIQQAA (yah, that's long but it's all inclusive) alliance... I joined that... but there's also a Gender Variance group which i'm going to join. Support/activist groups rock. And i've found that gender issues are the most hidden and misunderstood among topics of sexuality and gender.

Wow, so it took you so long to realize what was going on with yourself... it must have been so weird not knowing why you felt so different, i'm glad you eventually figured it out!

I think the reason that a lot of translesbians get so much shit, is because of the stereotype of the pre-op transexual lesbian being a guy who is trying to get in lesbian pants through whatever means necessary.

Of course its just damn stupid. Major surgery and complete life change just so you can have access to that 5% of girls who don't like the cock?

You know, that reminds me. A while back one of my best friends in real life has a crush on me. And one of the things she said she was going to do is get a gender change so I'll love her back in the way that she loves me.

I kinda found it funny until I realized she was serious. Then I talked her out of it.

It wows me the fact she was going to try that hard but I don't want her to change because of me. I want her to change for her. If that makes any sense

Anyway yeah, I love her and all but I don't think I could have feelings that way for her even if she was another gender entirely. She knows now that I'd rather stay friends, in a way friends are better because there's less fighting and worrying about them cheating on you and junk.

Part of the reason that there is so much hate is that people have their own insecurities, just like there is a gay man who wants to be straight and overcompensates, I think there can be other examples.

I feel very sorry for people who don't feel right in their own bodies and I can sympathize, though for different reasons. I hope that I will always understand, because that is what people need to do, understand and accept.

On the note about groping: I've had bi or gay friend think I was something like that because I'm so pretty

My family all the time (extended family) asks me if I have a girlfriend yet, this and that. I think what they're really trying to find out is if I'm gay (I had two uncles whom I've incredibly similar to who were gay).

I wish they would just ask me instead of these roundabout questions.

I was talking to a friend of mine (evangelical, you may know the type) and he was trying to insist to me that people choose to be gay. I said "Why would someone want to put up with all that shit?" and he said "Oh, they want to be popular and have a lifestyle...etc. etc." you know, the BS. I just think he is a lost cause.[/img]

I'm not sure where I read it but there was an essay called "the politics of desire", all about tasty goodness; if anyone can find it, it'd probably be fairly interesting.
