Agreed with Joel, you're not getting any younger and the sooner you sit down and do it the better. This being said from a 18 year old who has managed to pump out a 150 page novel in 2 months. Nothing's holding you back, just yourself. Trust me, you'll feel better once it's written...You'll feel worse once you start editing.Joel Fagin wrote:You figure it out as you go. It's the only way, believe me.PieceOfSkunk wrote:I have a very loose plotline for a novel written out. It's just a matter of settling on things and figuring out how to write a novel.

I to have a lot of projects running around, aside from decypher. I'm working on a new webcomic which is still in early development, which is being designed as my comic once decypher ends. Its a space-sci fi piece so I'm taking time to design the world the characters live in.
I'm working on a series of short films, still in my head, just five minute type things for various aspects of film production for a portfolio. There's two possible novels in my head. The one I'm excited about is about a group of soldiers who were exposed to pre-wwII tests of nuculear warfare.
I'm also working on new music, for my solo project. I just need the drums on the newest song.
Plus there's tons of dreamy type projects I want to be involved in. And well the comic fan fiction stuffs.

Hmmm, I suppose you don't count finishing college?
Then I have several comic projects behind the ones running right now. I'm finishing a short 4-page story for a local competition and one a bit longer (read 100 pages) for one abroad. I have two almost-finished scripts for graphic novels, and a few that are still in pieces. I am also gathering strength to make new tutorials.
I have some very far projects considering film or music, but they are sooo far that I think they're not even worth mentioning.

I would really, really want to go to university. Seriously. Take on Culinary Arts, have my own restaurant....But I'm still saving up. It's part of my 7-year plan.
There's this webmail project that i'm working on, and we're bundling it into an appliance. Sorta like SquirrelMail, but better. And you just plug it in, and voila - you have your awesome email server.
It's a bit fragmented, but hey. I envy people with solid plans for their life though.

Well, there's moving Blue Skunk and making the new site look all pretty (blech. I hate. repeat. HATE html.)
I'm also redoing the old pages because I can't stand looking at them anymore, which is actually quite fun, as the new versions come closer to the origional idea than the old ones.
I am in the process of re-writing my scifi novel--second draft, for the writing-obsessed. After which I will probably start on the third and maybe fourth draft.
My ultimate goal is to sell the thing.
Writing several three-page entries into a contest a writer's group is running. It's a simple enough contest--write three pages on a theme, they don't have to END at three pages but the reader must want very badly to turn the page at the end of page three. I have one finished, and in need of a re-write, and I want to write a couple more to make sure number one isn't too melodramatic.
I'm already prepairing for National Novel Writing Month, which means lots of comicking, actually. I want november totally covered, as I don't see me being able to do a lot of comicking in between the daily 4k of words (I'm gonna be totally insane this year and set my goal at 100,000 words, not 50,000 words, in a month) I also have my idea, so I'm streaching it out to see how far it will go.

m^2, you are now my goddess of productivity. O_O.
I currently have 2 comics, a site that I intend to be like a giant novella, a novel in the works, and another dead novel that may or may not be ressurected.
Hehehe and those 2 comics of mine that are dead. XD

I'm lucky in that the editor of my old paper is over there (yay, for references/contacts) and I've already received several offers. But I need to get the date from my move from Australia settled, too...shinyhugh wrote:I do not envy you in this task, I've given up trying to get a summer job...blackaby wrote:I have to go a-job searching in Ireland in September.
Heh.
Forget all the stuff I said before - the main project I'm doing lately is PROCRASTINATING.
That, and dreaming of a better career. Like some kind of job where I delegate and have power. Like RULER OF THE UNIVERSE or something.
I'd get my own taser then.
Whoo and I finished summer semester yesserdayRA wrote:m^2, you are now my goddess of productivity. O_O.
