For design our final is to make a poster for a play.
So I dug around online and found a terrible play but it had a neat concept so I read synopsis and some of it and did thumbnails and blah blah...
And here it is:
Anything to say before I turn it in(I'll be turning in a 11x17 poster of it)?
Ok now that you've seen the poster the play is about a girl who locks herself in the bathroom at a highschool party a month before graduation and basically sorts out her feeling on her life. It's like her "grow up moment".

There appears to be no handle on the toilet Unless it's one of those little push-button-on-the-top ones. Or you use the toilet roll holder which sorta looks like it's attached
It's pretty damn cool is all I've really got to say.
If you like penguins, ninjas, and/or the colour blue, come see!
Great color, but I think there needs to be more contrast between the girl and the background. She kinda gets lost among the pattern of the wallpaper and the bathroom surroundings. Maybe darken the area around her to make a sort of spotlight effect on her? That would emphasize her isolation a bit, as well as bringing the focus on her.

most toilets have the handle on the other side than the one showing

You may want to use a different font on the "by david mathew barnes" line. It's a little hard to read and doesn't contrast well enough with the title.
The information at the bottom has the same problem. Try using a font family that has many different weights so that the information will be more organized-looking. Use bold for improtant pieces of info, and light and/or condensed for loess important things.
My biggest problem is that the toilet is floating. It's not on the same perspective as the floor and wall, at least based on where I see the vanshing point to be (roughly between her breasts). The toilet's vanishing point is between her knees at least for the reservoir. The seat could be anywhere. The faucet is almost straight on, though so it's all screwy.
Woo, design crit! I'm totally itching to go back to school.
As PeppermintAfterlife pointed out already, my biggest issue is with the type - and mostly that "a play by David-Matthew Barnes" block. Whatever funky font that is works in the main large title (it's big enough there to be legible, and ties into the whole crazy-wavy-funky aesthetic of your illustration.) But in the "a play by..." subheading, it gets hard to read. My instint would be to go with a very clean sans-serif font for both that and the bottom information, which would make a nice contrast with the very decorative and elaborate title font.
The other issue I'm seeing with the "a play by..." thing is that it's overtop of that junction where the counter meets the wall meets the counter, and that ends up being quite busy, especially with the angled type. I might either move it entirely onto the right wall, and/or align it more with one of the existing edges in the illustration (the wall, the top of the toilet, the edge of the poster, the counter?)
Also, for what it's worth, I prefer your first color scheme with the lighter blues.
I do like this poster. If you don't mind my asking, what kind of design class is it for?
I would get rid of the cross hatching on her body- it doesn't go with the smooth look of the rest of the poster. I'd model the form with darker shades of blues and highlights.
it was for my design class where we learn design theory for advertising...how to place things and do layout, how to make effective graphic design and such. I made a few changes but never had to change the original artwork...which made me happy...actually all three department instructors seemed to love the finished peice so uh...here it is btw printed out to it's propper size it looks really nice-and readable! My instructers usually really get on me about the fonts i pick and she was all "great choice!"...made ME feel good The department head even stopped me in between rooms and asked if I wanted him to try to place me in a job after graduation. And if your focused on her muted out undies then your a perv she's in a skirt....it's a fact of life.
