Well, she was about ten on the last album, so it's understandable. She's seen in skirts and dressed in more recent promotional materials.

Supposedly, at first it was supposed to be a hot chick but then she was rejected in favor of geeky Japanese girl, which is good, hot chick would be awfully predictable.

other than being a cool unique idea, why is gorillaz animated?

are they ugly? are they fat? are they old?

(i think they're old... my theory.... 2d sounds like an older voice)

2D is the lead singer from Blur.

I think they are just animated for the hell of it. I think it might also be because they can't consistantly get together for concerts. I've also heard people say they change the lineup of musicians pretty regularly. Not sure though, I know the voices of the characters stay the same though of the original members at the least. I could be wrong they might ALWAYS be the same people playing the music.

they're animated cos he used to share a flat with jamie Hewlett and they got drunk one night and thought it would be a good idea to make an animated band. Kind of a piss take of manufactured bands in that they're man made characters.

I had the impression they were sort of a 'solo' project for Damon Albarn? I don't know too much about them, though, except that they're cool. And that I need to finally pull myself together and go buy their first album.

Nakamura is already out of the band. He's replaced by some guy Danger Mouse who got famous by illegally mixing Beatles and stuff. They call him RIAA's bad boy.
