I would like to suggest an "Outstanding Fan Comic" category for any future cases of this type of material that may come up.

This may be better suited for it.

But do you think that this would keep a comic like that out of other categories? Or would it just add another category for it to appear in? Also, do you think that the situation would be common enough to justify this category every year?

I'm certainly not shooting down the idea, but I'd love to hear some other views on it.

Maybe not. But it is a slap in the face of the people who worked hard on their own ideas. I know your feeling is to let the votes fall where they may, but I think bad voting decisions like this come about due to lack of alternatives.

Of course, this just makes the list of nominations just that much larger...

Well, I dont follow this sort of stuff, so I dont know how common fanfic webcomics are. But if there's more than just this one, then maybe there is a need for it.
