(irritatingly out of practice black belts, but black belts nonetheless.)

I want to learn martial arts. Mostly so the next time my friend gets a boyfriend and I threaten to beat him up if he tries to molest her (I make this threat for every male she becomes involved with) I can back up that claim.

Is it a bad thing to want to learn to fight so I can kick ass, rather than defend myself?
