Fwup, because, as Vile said, it's a small fish hitting a large dragon. And that sound is perfect for it.

Fish'd is funnier.

But if you want to be SERIOUS about it (spoilsport) I say just "slap". Maybe "slapt".

Or you could go find a fish and slap someone with it. That'd be a good way to find out. Research!

If it's a projectile you definitely need to link the first hard consonant to a soft consanent. Thrown fish have less of an impact than swung fish; the sound should have a wetter aspect and less painful hardness than that of a swung fish.

Hmm... as a cross between "splat" and "smack", "splack" does have a certain appeal... *rubs chin thoughtfully*

I don't think "fwap" would remind the layman of "fap" in the context of a cartoon, unless someone gets hit with three fish in quick succession.

Personally, I think "fwap" is funny only because it sounds a tiny bit like the fish was rocketing through the air before it made contact. Just say it out loud, gradually increasing the volume: "ffffffffffffff<b>WAP!</b>"

i can sympathize with your predicament. i always have trouble finding the right sounding phrase in certain cases. when it seems alright by my own standard of comprehension, but there is always that lingering doubt that it may end up hollow and awkward with others. english ain't my mother tongue, but as it sounds, i concur with splap.
