I like Phalanx's logo, but I think she should play with the dimensionality a little bit. The position of the words in space is hurting my brain... Maybe make the "omic" part as the saturn ring in back, and the "enesis" part as the front ring? I think the words would look really good as part of the ring.
But I really like the logo. So... smooth and planetoid-y.
I especially like the text-less logo.

These were the kind of thing I was going for actually.Phalanx wrote:Hmmm... We could modify the Gear planet logo:
I'm still learning this Illustrator thing, but here's my (lo)go:
For smaller logos we could strike off the text inside and make the planet smaller... or even maybe add the old K-star for kicks. (haven't done that though)
Edit: And a pair of slightly different version for comicgen:

The edges are softer, and there is a subtle hint of depth in the stars, as well in the lettering. Not that drastic a change really, but it no longer looks so flat to me.Kirb wrote:I'm confused as to what you changed, exactly. It just looks a tad darker.cat42 wrote: EDIT=======
This is a change I would make to Kirb's logo.

EDIT===
I like Faub's, but I miss the star *sniff*
Someday, someday I'll finish Confabulation. That day is not today, however.

They look awesome, but first time I read it, I was tending to dismiss "G" because it goes before "omic".RemusShepherd wrote:I'm colorblind, so you have permission to casually dismiss my opinion.But red does not stand out from black very well to me, so the above logos look like a saturn-like planet with 'omic enesi' stenciled across it. :p
If we go with that logo, I'll be calling myself a Web-Omic creator for months.

*confused* Not sure what you mean by that, but feel free to sketch it out and work on the existing logo.AsterAzul wrote:I like Phalanx's logo, but I think she should play with the dimensionality a little bit. I love that logo, but the real problem still lies in the 'G,' I think. Everybody will see the Saturn-esque planet first, and afterward realize that it is actually a G. Just make the G a little more obvious, I think.Phalanx wrote:Hmm... is this any better? (It's a bit skewed, but I'm more after layout than anything else)
Great work, though.

I like Phalanx's but only as a concept. It doesn't look quite right yet. The text is kinda lost in the huge logo and they're both fighting to be seen in the same space. There's also a lot of white space for such a large logo. It looks as though it needs to be smaller. (I realise that won't work with what you're doing with it, but it's still a problem.) I many ways, it looks as thought you're trying to force the logo to do something it can't.
