The Newsletter needs YOU *points*
While we are still looking for writers (I think we always will...) we also need a few artistic volunteers. The layout is rather text heavy but the new front page will help to purdy the place up. Problem is the creation of these images needs to be in capable hands, unlike mine.
On the front page you can see that there is now quite a few images on there. The main concern I have is the cover image. (which was provided by Corgan at the last minute) Our plan right now is to have a new artist draw the cover each month. The only real requirements is that it has the date and preferably the Keenspace Monthly name. And be no more than 600x200. The hight is flexible depending on what is needed (like this month's) but the width can't be more than 600. (800x600 users would have a fit) As for subject matter... anything goes realy. It could be one step away from a blatent plug for your comic. It could be themed after the current season or weather in your area. A muffin holding a shotgun saying Keenspace Monthly. It doesn't matter! Oh and you get your name and a link below your cover. And my gratitude. And some poket lint if I have any.
Also the icons next to each article are in need of improvement. What's there now is the result of five minutes with a micron and a can of Mountain Dew. Not quite up to par. (though Corgan did add the star in the backrounds) If anyone wants to take a stab at it we need icons for News items, general articles, reviews, the comic, and possibly editorials. (Like Neko's article) Also icons for some of the regular the horoscopes, the science corner, and anything you can think of that we might carry at some point. Whoever does these will get their name and link in the credits page.
Did I get everything?

If it's for the icons just post it here. If we get more than one submission maybe we can take vote? If it's a cover... *quickly thinks of something*
If you decide you will definitly make a cover for a certain month call it out. When it is finished send the final image to me at crossfire@sio.midco.net. (And I'll share it in the writer's only forum This way the cover remains a surprise and we don't get two covers for the same month.
After a while I'll make a new thread in the KM forum that will house the cover submissions more permanently.

If there ever is a theme to the issues I'd tell ya but the way things are going we would know that theme about a week before it goes out. (there isn't a whole lot of carefull planning that goes into these. Just a bunch of writers doing their thing) If you lack inspiration try something based on the current season/holiday, comics in general (natch), something newspaper-ish.., some dude getting laid and exclaiming Keenspace Monthly, or perhaps your cat. If your feeling creative feel free to run with any ideas you have. (but keep it work safe..)
For size requirements 600 pixles wide and 200 high is a good size to shoot for. The height is quite flexible but anything too tall will push the page too far down.

*does the bump and grind*
Just thought I would mention the new Tip Line where you can submit newsworthy stuff. Also if your comic has just reached a milestone of some sort (year older or xhundred comics) you can post it here so it can be shown in the next issue. It will just be a little list of any comic that has earned it's wings that month. Give comic number 100 a little publicity.
(hopefully we get enough comics to make it worthwhile..)
