That is entirely too fascinating to make me flinch. Wow that was wild. Poor sap.Meteo wrote:They were all fairly amusing. Didn't make me blink, though.
Should I be worried that this doesn't make me flinch either?

Didn't make me flinch either, as I've seen the same stuff on Rotten.com before. Makes you wonder what goes through the mind of that plastic army man while you position your magnifying glass ever so carefully above his head.WhatMeWorry? wrote:That is entirely too fascinating to make me flinch. Yep. And you're going to click on this, too.Toxic wrote:Oh sweet Jesus... why did I click on all of those links?
"It is the difference between the unknown and the unknowable, between science and fantasy - it is a matter of essence. The four points of the compass be logic, knowledge, wisdom and the unknown. Some do bow in that final direction. Others advance upon it. To bow before the one is to lose sight of the three. I may submit to the unknown, but never to the unknowable. The man who bows in that final direction is either a saint or a fool. I have no use for either."

Have we passed the point as a society that in 3 pages of posts of the grossest shit we can find on the net that Goatse.cx was not even mentioned once. I understand many of us have seen this pic and a few of us have even been desensitized to it through numerous email pranks. However for the uninitiated (read: newbs) I am sorry to say that the original pic has been damn near obliterated - but for those of you who are in the know - there are a bunch of hilarious tribute sites to it.
Yes thats right - tributes to Goatse.

You know what's really sad?
about 8 out of 10 of those images I've seen before. A lot.
You'd think we'd all have to go real out of the way to get this kind of stuff, but it's not hard to find.
That all being said, I am now going to research the internet to find out how people with repressed memories do it.

While it is indeed a creepy pic, it doesn't bother me much, mostly because it's so obviously fake. The one that really bugs me (pun intended) is the one of the man with maggots in his brain; oddly enough, it wasn't until I'd read that it was genuine that it bothered me, as it looks fake.Kitsune Bosetsu wrote:This one freaks me out, but I'm not sure quite why...

Once I had nothing better to do than spelunk in the Internet's underbelly looking for the most disgusting and vile picture I could possibly find. Guro, scat, mutiliation, vomit, I saw them all, and kept on looking. Then I went to some obscure Hungarian site and saw that real-life picture of the guy having sex with a rotting human corpse. Maggots, goo and everything.
I stopped looking at that point.
Sadly, the hard drive with the results of my sojourns on it fried itself recently. I can try to salvage it, but you're going to have to use your imagination in the meanwhile.
Edit: I had already seen some corpse-sex art and some suspect morgue necrophilia with fresh bodies, but this was real, which made it hundreds of times more hideous.
