And that's from a Lutheran. Of course, I'm a Scandinavian Lutheran, so some people would probably not consider me a Christian at all...

If I was going to be Christian, I'd probably be Lutheran... Well, old school Lutheran at least. I don't actually know all that much about modern Lutheranism... But I know Martin Luther kicked much ass.

Of course, I've always been somehwat susceptible to the arcane, ritualistic nature of Catholocism, too... Complex rules and Latin make me wet. (probably one of the less hidden reasons I'm going into law, huh?)

Still... Nah. The costumes in Catholicism are a little too girley for me. I like the stand-up-in-class-and-say-"Escuse me, but with all due respect, Bullshit!" aspect of Martin Luther. Besides, I'm a democrat... Mass said in and the central work written in the language of the people is a very democratic idea. That's for me. If I were a christian, of course.

If I were to be religious, I would definatly be catholic. The rituals and traditions of the church appeal to me, not in spite of them having no biblical backing, but because they have no biblical backing. You can be wonderfully blasphemous and a catholic at the same time, hell, I don't think the priest at the church I went to as a child even believes in god (he's an officer and a chaplin in the national guard, and served in vietnam [not as a chaplin, I don't know as what], he got his personal version of religion there, and decided catholicism was the closest to it), the Jesuit tradition definatly shows through in that church. Besides, historically catholics have had the best taste in architecture (though not always), the Notre Dame cathedral is nearly enough to make me sin in my pants on sight, so to speak. One last advantage to catholicism - the movie dogma is much, much funnier when you've been a catholic.

Yes, Indeed.

Not so much Latin in Mass anymore. No indulgences for money anymore.

But remember to not eat meat on Friday (it's Lent, you know), unless it's fish or seafood, which is okay.

God/The gods simply don't care. They've more important things to worry about, like the running of a whole planet, possible a whole universe, why should we in particular concern them?

ok i have a ponderence about muic right now. Since every one here tends to listen to something else you all get to help a little.. yayayayay.

so i bought a cd its an older cd but not too old. It's the Godhead cd and they covered "Elinor Rigsby" a classic Beatles song and yes i my self am not a big Beatles person, but i love this cover.

My ponderence is this......How often do you like covers of older sonngs if they are done in a different style? and If so how often do you like the orignial?

P.S. it doesnt have to be restricted to a certain type of music.

I all depends.. I like song as far back as the 50's swing era so I actually pick out more covers than most people think exist... And it literally depends on the song.
Some songs are best covered if they're loyal to the original tune... Some work better if you write your own song and make it a tribute to the earlier (eg: toy soldiers originaly by Martika but now covered in rap form by EMINEM... Least I think that who covered it).
There's no rule as far as I'm concerned!

I agree that no fast rule exists. Sometimes it's just nice to hear an old tune with a fresh voice, and sometimes recreating it makes it so much sense. Like old stories. Remember all the Grendal comics a few years back. Some where very true to the original story and some way way out. I think it's the song or story that make it worth while. The way it's done depends on the artist's strong suit.

I just got addicted to ddr ultramax2 and thank god its on xbox id look rather goofy if i were in public. but why is this game so damned addicting definatly since its on the mat ? why why why?

If it makes you feel any better, I just ordered my second Cobalt Flux pad (http://www.cobaltflux.com). At least this way, when I have DDR parties, I won't have to stick anyone on the insensitive nylon pad.
