Someone else compared it to an episode of Xena with a similar theme. I actually never noticed the similarity before.
There are some critical differences though. First, in both of the above, only one person was aware that they were caught in a loop. In Z-World, everyone is. Also, it was possible to break the loop by going through the events of the day in a specific fashion, which is also not the case here.
Another pivotal difference is that the concept of physical location is somewhat abstracted in Z-World. The result is that your location isn't imprinted with the rest of your state, so you might wake up in a different place every morning, even though everything else about you is the same.
