erm...
a question about the newsbox that you put on your site.
I've put it on my site, but it only shows the image, not the box around it (like on http://www.keenspace.com on the left)
if that box automaticaly generated in a way or should we add it owerselfs?
btw, http://gmaki.keenspace.com the newsbox without the box is on the left

You add it yourself. RPin was kind enough to put the code down here somewhere on this thread, plus the URL for the "Newbox" pic. Others have made it in their own styles, I've noticed.

Okay, in case you don't know... we DO have a newsbox <a href="http://guide.keenspace.com/newshack.php?out=guide"> HERE </a>, login to <a href="http://siteadmin.keenspace.com">siteadmin</a> and configure it, or maybe I just need to make configuring it easier to use.

Ghastly wanted to know if I could make stats from it... so 2 hours later, we now have <a href="http://guide.keenspace.com/guide_newsbox.php">this</a>, albiet very ugly...

It's sole purpose is to track in/out on the newsbox... kinda like "top lists" , except this more tracks who is or is NOT putting the box on their site.

It's only been running for about 2 hours and is only showing "clicks" in this version. I might extend it a little to show counts instead of the same link over and over again. Still, I don't expect too much use of this one.

I might backport it to guide itself however, which means it could be used as a <strike>popularity contest </strike>page rank that could then be used on the front page.

Oh... and just a reminder, if you don't update your comic for 7 days, your newsbox will not show up. Some incentive to not go on hiatus.

If the code was here earlier, it isn't now. HTML is like a hammer to the head for some of us, so would someone be kind enough to repost it?

I hereby ressurect this thread because I seem to be having the same issues as a lot of people. I'm trying to upload my banner and I'm getting

Okay, new issue. I scroll down in the edit page and I get no options for the box. I see NewsHACK *USE AT OWN RISK* and then a bit of empty space before the "Make Newsbox" button.

Ok... so far I get it.... but I'm going to ask the same question thats been posted here before and for some reason I can't figure it out....

When I try typing in Http://dedend.keenspace.com/public_html ... banner.jpg

I keep getting that "Doesn't exist on Keenspace_Butch, located on Keenspace_Butch instead? " Message

So I should only be typing in "/public_html/images/banner.jpg " (sans quotes) and it should work.... because I've tried that and still gotten the same response.... and I have uploaded my banner via FTP..... grrrr

Okay, let's do a little troubleshooting:

You're uploading your newsbox image.
It's 150 x 300.
It's in the /images folder.

It's 150 x 297 is that ok?
