Gotta maintain the balance, ya know.

Two budding romances.

One would sicken and warp, the other could only grow and flourish.
Steps were taken to save the one, then events conspired to destroy the other.
A soul freed, a soul chained.

Very nice, sir. Very nice.

Personally, I think your contribution was even cooler Guildenstern. 8)

Indeed. It was unavoidable. I'm sure our favourite talking monkey would have told us so. I wonder what the longer range fallout from this will be, though... There have to be a lot of interests who've been keeping tabs on Jack besides Nyarlathotep, and the Illuminati not least among them. His going soulless is likely to stir some people to action, and his alienating the one operative who was probably best disposed towards him seems likely to come back and bite him on the ass. I suspect our favourite talking monkey might tell us that, too.

I wonder how Hook's going to feel about Maria's new look? It's not permanent, of course, and he's hardly in a position to pass judgement...

Life can be seen like chess, or pinball. In chess you try to win, thus ending the game, as quickly as possible. In pinball, the goal is to keep playing.

I like chess, but I'd rather play pinball.

Trying to keep her around, with him in such a state would probably end up worse for all concerned.
Ahhh! But Maria's greatest charm has not been affected!

Thanks Guildenstern! I was hoping that dichotomy would come across, and wouldn't just be, y'know, lame.

And I agree with Seafog; that's an excellent bit of poetic analysis. :D
