NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Not dead! I'm sorry... I didn't get any emails telling me this topic had replies, and I've been too busy with the new school year to think to check it on my own.
Here's the deal, though--
The javascript still isn't working. Keenspace help isn't helping. Well... maybe my topic finally got a reply, but I stopped checking a month ago... mrrr....
Anyhow. If nobody here can think of a way to fix the script either, then everyone's going to have to cut and paste the whole dropdown code on his or her page. Which ALSO means that everyone's going to have to update their codes every time we add new members. So maybe... monthly updates of the code? Bimonthly?
Anyway. I'll write the code up this weekend (no time over the week what with mad crazy classes and all) and post it here for your enjoyment. And it freaking BETTER work.
Hoo-ray.
....
And once again, just so we're clear on this,
It's not dead already! I swear!!!

no why its not showing up at all, has to do with the fact that your link. http://slightlyschizophrenic.keenspace. ... fispace.js comes up as a 404. if it worked I'd be getting a page of Javascript that my browser would not read like if we went to... http://decypher.keenspace.com/scripts/keendrop.js for example.
so it seems one of two things happened.. one you deleted it accidently, or two you moved it and didn't change the link..
or well you might have removed it cause it isn't working which means this message is invalid.

All righty! The dropdown is ready to go...
You'll find the code here:
http://slightlyschizophrenic.keenspace.com/scifispace.html
(I don't want to post it here because it's kind of huge.)
PLEASE check your comic's entry--both in the dropdown and on the SCI-FIspace homepage--to make sure that it works and that I haven't misspelled anything.
Don't forget that the dropdown will have to be updated from time to time, and you'll have to copy in the new code. Sorry... it's the price you pay for being awesome
YAY!!
Also, I don't think anybody's sent me a title image yet... c'mon, free advertising... and you know the current one is waaay too lame....
As for the old dropdown -
It gave that message even when scifispace.js was in the right place, and the URL was correct. I quadrupled-checked. I even tried deleting and re-uploading the .js file. And then I tried deleting and re-uploading to a different folder, and...
I tell you, I've tried it all.
Well, no matter, as the new dropdown works! ^_^ hurrah hurroo.

Okay, I made a scifi space dropdown anyone can use, its a tempary thing, until CD contacts me and I can pass along the dropdown him/her.
everyone listed on the scifi space website should be there..
and CD... don't think you were alone in pulling your hair out trying to make the dropdown work. I don't know what went on... it might have been something on the URLs and how you added them to the website but my first attempt at making the dropdown was messed up and wouldn't load so I just readded them all by hand.. and finally got it to work. contact me and I'll give you the javascript code and directions on how to make a direct script link for your dropdown.
Code: Select all
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="javascript" SRC="http://decypher.keenspace.com/scripts/scifi.js"></script>
