Do you know that cat fathers sometimes eat their kittens? That's why mother usually doesn't let him near them.
Yup - I'm quite aware of that. We always kept him away from the kittens until we found out all he wanted to do was play with his children! He was a wonderful father.

Isn't that TEH CUTE?!!!?1

*sniff* I do miss that one...

Leeches are so cute. *not really* I just want to hug them. *no I don't* But unforunately that would lead to me losing massive amounts of blood. *argh!!*

But kitties are cuter than leeches. And kitties don't give me the creeps like leeches do.

I was outside on my patio this morning after it rained... and there were all these cute baby snails... they were so small and had little minature shells...

I almost melted right there!

If you had some salt, you could say the same about the snails.

When I see a snail I like to get some salt and make a salt cirlce with a three inch radius (centerpoint being the snail)

They really hate that crap.

But how do you put salt on cooked snails? Or do they just melt in your mouth?

Hurrah!
I have my own duck horror story. We were recently expanding the enclosure for our two ducks and the fence was taken part way down. During this time out dog decided to go get better "acquainted" with them. Interesting fact, a ducks neck is a great place for a dog to grab them buy. Long story short, we were minus one duck, and despite what I said earlier, I was actually sad.

And since ducks don't do very well by themselves, we either had to give the remaining one away, or get a new one. Being that we had just put a lot of work into building them a pen, we decided to go for the new duck. An adorable little ducking.
Image
It's so cute. Nice and fluffy, and it follows me around wherever i go. :)

I take back almost all the nasty things I said about ducks, this is the cutest little thing I have ever seen. It's still to young to live outside with our other duck though.

But in about another two weeks he should be big enough. And the pen is now nice and dog proof.

So I guess I changed my mind about the ducks, they start to grow on you after a while.

They still smell bad though. :-?

that reminds me of a story. my parents raise chickens, just for fun. they have a flock of about 15-20.

well, they also live out in the country, and have acres of woods behind their house. so obviously the pets interact with the wild animals. this means that on occasion a fox has captured and killed a chicken. it's just what they do. my parents, while they understand this, try obviously to discourage it.

one day my mom was out in her garden near dusk. she saw a dog walking around with something in it's mouth. suddenly she realized that it was no dog, it was a fox! and that was not just anything in it's mouth, that was a dead chicken! so she did what any sensible person would do when seeing a wild animal who would be determined to protect it's chicken feast: she grabbed a broom and ran at it swinging like a berserker.

that fox was so startled that it dropped the poor chicken and shot towards the woods. then my mom sadly walked over to the chicken, determined to give it a proper christian burial. (throw it in the field to let the fox have it anyways)

the chicken stood up, shook itself, and walked back to the pen.

turns out the fox was rather inexperienced and did not snap its neck.

or maybe it was a zombie.

you decide.

And there's anothes idea for a story: Zombie chickens! They'll pluck your eyes if you get too near!

Actually, we had a dog Akitu ina (syberian, fluffy kind) once, and we could never get him not to chase chickens. Something similar happened with him, he attacked a chicken, with all the feathers flying around, we thougth poor chich was as good as dead, but after we dragged the dog away, chicken just raised from the ground and walked away. Still in shock, thought.
