HELP for Comic Genesis Signups

Well, it's very hard to make pencils look good. I regret making my first strips in pencil.

Why don't you post some pictures at the Techniques forum? It's a better place to discuss this.

Does "signup activated" mean that the signup form has gone through, or does it mean I've been accepted and haven't recieved an email?

It means that unless something else rejects it, it should be created 7 days from the day of the original signup.

I signed up for keenspace 3-4+ months ago -.-
I heard from a friend who signed up and it took her about a month and a half to get the confirmation, but I was cool with that wait. After awhile I was curious as to whether or not something happened or I'd have to try to signup again.

Here it lists me and my comic, if you click on the 'Euthanasia' (the name of my comic) it says, "Euthanasia is hosted on Keenspace, a free webhosting and site automation service for webcomics." So naturally I have to believe they accepted me if that's there. I contacted a couple of people through e-mail, they told me that they were having problems and that it would help as soon as they could. That was like a month ago..

I mean... what do I do? Who do I talk to?

I've been waiting so... Is there anyway I could possibly get the confirmation resent?

Or am I mistaken and this is the normal wait time?

If the site doesn't exist (ie you don't get an email) signup again.

'Yello. I signed up, um, a couple of weeks ago, and I got the verification e-mail, and verified it just fine. I haven't recieved a password, so, being young dumb and impatient, I did the whole "lost password thingie" and haven't gotten an email yet. How long do those things usually take, and how annoying and impatient am I?

Also, I did the other verification thing, and it said my verification was okay and to check my username status, which wasn't found.

What does it all mean???

Anywho, thanx for your time and effort, Kisai. You be cool. I owe you alot of friggin' art for everything!!

The email should be near-instant, or at least within 45 minutes. If you aren't getting it, then you can't verify the activation code, so therefor it will delete itself after 7 days, by which you can signup again with a new email

wellll....... I tried to rejoin with another email, and did so successfully. I then recieved 2 emails in 2 accounts. One was the verification email for the new signup (which said nothing about the username already being taken), and another in the original account telling me my account had just become active, but the password didn't work.

I tried to get a new password= no email
I checked my sign-up status= username not found
I checked comic status= not found
I checked password status= 0 found
I tried to rejoin= username already taken

I am a horribly confused little man.

Same thing is happening with me. I got the email to verify my email address, did that and it worked, but received no email with my password, nor does my comic even exist.

New here. So perhaps a little insight as I wait for my email. When you send the Signup, does the email get sent back automaticly when you send you comic sample, or does it normally take a day or so to recieve. Also if it says "Signup email sent, waiting purge or activitation" that mean I'm still waiting for the email to activate, right?

If you are not recieving the e-mail then use yahoo or hotmail (and make sure it is accepting email from butch.keenspot.com and keenspace.com)

use http://siteadmin.keenspace.com/cgi-bin/ ... ssword.cgi to create custom passwords.

IF you see "waiting purge or activation" that means it hasn't been activated and will be deleted if not activated.

Mkay. Got activation code. Said email was activated. Now, last question of the day. I will get the password, etc by email in about 7 days or so...Correct? Because, it said to check username status and my username isn't found, so I just wait till I get the next email, correct?

I haven't been this frustrated in years. This stupid freaking system is contradicting itself over a sign-up i've done three times now. I've given it three email addresses, and the only time It sends me anything is when I give it another email, and the it just sends a non working password.

I cant believe how much trouble this is.

Didn't this sign-up actually work at one point? Obviously it had to, cause everyone and their mom has a freakin' web comic.

Isn't there SOMETHING you can do besides tell me to wait two weeks and do it all a fourth, fifth and sixth FREAKING time?

You're not the only one frustrated here. Imagine having to deal with what you are dealing everyday for a year.

If you got a non-working password, use the last password facility and request another one. That should work. As a matter of fact, this has been covered in the FAQ thread, which I believe has "Read Before Posting" Stamped next to it.

A: This seems to be a recent bug. Request a new password from the Keenspace lost password facility and you should be fine. See next question for how to do this.

You can generate new and customisable passwords here which will then have to activated by email

Incidently, since there are like 50 signups a day, the likeliness of not recieving the e-mail is low, since there are people recieving it.

As I have stated, use the check status, and figure out if the account exists or not, if it EXISTS (second form) use the lost_password.cgi to send a new one. It uses the EXACT same email system, so it's not possible for one to send and the other not to. If it says PENDING in the signup list (first box) you'll see your signup image and description show up as well. If it says pending, and you haven't recieved the e-mail, then that e-mail DOES NOT WORK.

The system will NEVER activate an account that hasn't recieved the activation code, BECAUSE there has to be working valid email.

If you keep signing up again, it will not activate any sooner. In fact it will just get deleted sooner, since I have a photographic memory and delete signups I've already seen in the last 48 hours.

Exact steps:
1. Signup
2. Activate account using address and code in e-mail recieved
3. WAIT till the end of the 7 days
4. You should recieve a password, it might not work, use http://siteadmin.keenspace.com/cgi-bin/ ... ssword.cgi if required.
5. Activate the password if you changed or requested a new one.
6. CLOSE ALL THE BROWSER WINDOWS, ALL OF THEM!!!
7. Start a new browser window and go straight to http://siteadmin.keenspace.com

If it doesn't work then, something else is amiss.

In my opinion, this step is not stressed NEARLY as much as it should be. Just a heads up as I beleive a lot of people, myself included are simply missing this point.
