EOI = 23% of all traffic to Keenspace
what faub said.
even 'professional' stuff improves as its creator gains more skills. there's never a point you can be 'perfect' cos where do you go from there? (many things jump the shark after they're 'perfect'!!!)

I'd post the graph of my hits in March, but I'd fear I was gloating. Anyway, looking at it, the day that Sortelli plugged me in a rant is rather absurdly clear. It's like seeing the Sears Tower sitting in the middle of Kansas.Phalanx wrote:I believe the last time I got plugged by Sortelli I nearly fell off my chair because my visits/per day shot up to 1000...from what... 250?Ratbert wrote:Way to go, Sorty. It's amazing that PA has the power to convert a normal comic (not that EOI wasn't popular before, but still) into a huge hit...imagine if someone else got linked from them or even you!
Pretty damn impressive... I say
Thank you for that.
Xmung and Faub speak truth.
Go ahead and gloat, man. I like your comic, so you must deserve it!

I like that analogy, it's so apt.yeahduff wrote: Anyway, looking at it, the day that Sortelli plugged me in a rant is rather absurdly clear. It's like seeing the Sears Tower sitting in the middle of Kansas.
*cough*faub wrote: I don't think you should turn down any help that might be available to you just because you don't think you're ready. You may find that your comic has been ready for months and you're the only one holding you back.
That's very good advice.
Sortelli linkage is a magical thing, he sent a link my way mid-march and my hits SKYROCKETED. He also conveniently was too busy to update for about a week after having linked me, and as such I consistently had crazy high page views for a while. Imagine my dismay when he updated again, and hits settled right down to about normal, making me realize that my popularity was due to the extreme coolness of EOI, and not really anything I had done.
Oh well! Congrats! You definitely deserve it.
I... should probably update and take down that almost week-old April Fools joke before I complain about traffic, too.

Simple enough, Ping gave me the same advice and I turned it down.

Girlamatic is taking submissions. Ping thought I should submit FAUB. Adis has already submitted CYS and I gave a couple silly reasons for bowing out.

All right, since it's funny, and War 'n' Warren asked me to (thanks guys), this is my month of March.

I thought something was broken in my favor when I first looked at it.
edit Maybe you can see it now.

Every time I miss an update I'm sad.
But then I think, "Ahh.. but what the heck - Ol' Jaster's probably leaving ARG for another month or so!"
And then I feel less sad.

yeahduff: Wow! That's some spike!
But come on, don't let anything I say push you in one direction or another. It's just my opinion after all. It's your comic, and your choice in the end.
Oh, and Adis didn't submit CYS, he submitted another series of his: The Wisdom of Moo.
From what I heard, he really impressed Lea Hernandez. Half of her latest editorial was all about him and his new series.
I'm glad. I think we all agree that Adis deserves some recognition at last.
You know, most people automatically assume that because of the name, but it's not true. While the majority of creators are female, a good number of the creators are male as well. And the stories there aren't the icky 'girly romance' stuff either.
I mean, look at SPADES. It's by most standards, it's what some people would call a 'manly' comic (IMHO that's silly, 'manly' comic, heh) but it's going to be in GAM anyway.
If I'm not mistaken, GAM is about female friendly comics, but NOT female only comics. Like I think I mentioned elsewhere, it's more of a place for creators and readers where the 'titties sell comics' mentality doesn't apply.
That doesn't mean we want to have boring stereotyped 'girl' branded comics stuff. Personally, I like my violent/horror/mystery/action comics, just minus the stupid obligatory eye candy women in ridiculous get ups.
Or at least, if you have to have cheesecake, then be fair and have something for the girls too
Oooh. Am I ranting? Drat. I am. Sorry. At least I cleared that point up.
Ping stop now.
It was just a suggestion, since you mentioned you wanted to get FAUB published and all that, and that would have helped a lot.faub wrote:Simple enough, Ping gave me the same advice and I turned it down.
