MUTINY. did you read that word just now?
yes? good, good. you'll be reading that a lot from now on.

Haha, I can't ban you, even if I wanted to (which I don't). My old screen name has that power, but due to stupid forum messups, I can no longer use it. So, uh.... just everybody be cool and we'll all be friends!
And, yeah, haha, the lack of updates did make the joke slightly more credible, but mostly I was just busy. This was a last-minute gag, though I did try to make it pretty obvious it was a joke with the not-so-subtle "APRIL FOOLS" written vertically through the rant. Ho hum.
I'm, uh... gonna try to do a new comic and get that eyesore off the front page sometime tonight, before people take it seriously and stop showing up.

That bold font practically beat me over the head with a spiked mace screaming "I AM AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE GODDAMMIT!!!"Jaster! wrote:not-so-subtle "APRIL FOOLS" written vertically through the rant. Ho hum.
Anyway.. it's good to see that I'm not the only one whose April Fool strip was a last minute "ending" idea who's now outlived its welcome. I gotta update my site...
Yeah! I've been spending all weekend studying for an exam and doing TWO (2) 3D-design projects. What's your excuse?

I built a large-ish Crab using nothing but wire, and last night was up attaching various pipey objects to a large paper mach

Well, Hieronymous Bosch was pretty cool though he was Late Gothic and Flemish, so technically not Renaissance. His stuff was extremely bizarre, to the degree that he probably inspired things like Terry Gilliam's animations for Monty Python, or even more profound, lots of surrealist's works, like the stuff by Salvador Dali. More to the point, the Late Renaissance, or Manneristic period was full of weird, exaggerated, off proportional-yet-realistic images designed specifically to screw with your head and make you have to really think to figure out what's going on. So yeah, you want funny Renaissance, check out the expression of sheer impotent rage on Father Time's face in Bronzino's Allegory of Venus. And in the Burial of Count Orgaz, I swear that one dude is looking up the angel's dress. Seriously.
You guys probably didn't care about any of that, though, eh?

...
you're just trying to get my mind of the large-ish crab.
well, tough luck for you.... i will have my crab-craving satisfied,
even if that means i have to create an online petition for it.
.... really.

Hahaha, I'm not nearly popular enough for any sort of petition to work. I did put a picture of him up on the page for you now, though. He's nothing special, really. Took a deceptively long time to make, though. It was like weaving a really complicated basket out of metal.

Ahhh hahaha! Guitar Frets! It worked. Page 12, sure, but considering the insane number of guitar-focused webpages that exist, I will consider that a victory!
Anyhoo, textures would be great if, say, this was a 3D computer program to which I could apply pictures and such. This, however, was a big, literal, wire statue. I had to use ONLY wire to portray 3d lines and all that hooey. So I'm really not sure how I'd apply any sort of texture to that. Oh well!

there's this one techinque that seems to be helping
a lot of newbies with similiar issues...
it's been renowned for that, though it had to work
it's way up from the underground, of course...
i'll teach you this technique now, in hope to see a Crab cameo... it's...
"copy-paste"
use it wisely. and only for good.

Oh, no no, Crabmotron isn't very pose-able, due to the architectural techniques I had to use to make him. He's abnormally tall for how thin the wire I used was. I think I had the second tallest one, and the dude who beat me used really thick wire and soldered it together. But yeah, if Crabmotron were ever to cameo in the comic, he would be a hand-drawn cartoony representation of himself, so he'd probably be robotic and not wire.
I just got my grade back on him, too! 95, baby. And this professor tends to grade stuff down pretty low. Happy? Me? You bet.
For my next project I'm building a phone out of Sculpey Clay. Good times.
