actually i think gettign rid of that ptsnoop did get rid of the popups, i guess the one i got shortly after removing it was a legitimate one, i still intend to format though.
i am already using zone alarm
i dont use outlook, i just check my email in my browser (your going to tel me thats just as bad now aren't you?), but my dad uses outlook, its gonna be hard to make him change.
if i cant open attachments or files sent over irc what am i supposed to do if i want a file someone else has?
i dont use kazaa, i use winmx, and it looks like that is spyware free
any suggestions for a free antivirus program i could download? i'm not convinced panda antivirus works all too well, despite it's furriness.

Unfortunately, if you want good protection, you'll probably have to pay for it. The only two I would use are Norton and McAfee and both cost. Maybe someone else knows of a less expensive option.

I HEAVILY recommend AVG. It's a great program, and free, though you can donate if you like. It's caught quite a few buggers for me. Between that and Spyware: Search and Destroy, I'm well covered for free.

the thing about free anti virus software.... you get what you pay for. i STRONGLY recomend you buy either McAfee or Norton. i just bought Norton SystemWorks and its "one click fix" somehow managed to greatly reduce the lag in one of my MMORPG games... i dont know how, i just like it. It also managed to find 50 registry errors on my fairly fresh install of XP.
I cant say that things will be better if we change; what I can say is that we must change for them to get better
