Oh, yeah, it's been here. Was almost active once or twice. A lot of threads seem to have completely disappeared in the last couple weeks, though. Scary. New comic up soon, by the way. Seriously.

Wow, 4 different people have just posted in the same topic! I am officially impressed. Anyhoo, Fred? Like, where did he come from? Or... what? I'd tell you his origins, but they probably aren't nearly as interesting as they should be.

Gee... Not sure exactly what I want. I guess its just general curiosity on my part arising from the need to see more of him.

And a pinch of me trying to be relevant in this form.

Relevance, Schmelevance. Anyhoo, some characters come from specific places, but Fred isn't one of him. Somewhere I have a piece of paper I was doodling all over, on which I drew the earliest versions of both Cliff and Fred (who look horrible), but they were really just doodles of what were going to be minor characters at a bar Jaster went to briefly. I liked them a lot, though, so I kept them around.

Incidentally, I wanted to draw a traditional, big strong Minotuar character, so the doodle has Fred's head, relatively close to how it is now, which is what I started with. But I spent a while trying to put a big muscular body on it, but each attempt look crappier than the last, so out of frustration I just put a little wimpy body on it, and wrote "Mad Cow" on the shirt, because it seemed like a funny thing to do. And... that's really all there is to it! I put him in the strip, and the rest of his development is right there in the archives.

Told you it wasn't very interesting.

That's Five (5) people! Ah ah aaah!

Post by Jaster! »

Hey, Stephen. What's shakin?

Speaking of the wonders of keenspace, they don't let you remote link stuff in your images folder anymore, so your banner isn't working. You *can* still link stuff out, but you have to make another folder to put it in. I wouldn't go crazy with the size or amount of stuff you link, as they seem to be freaking out about bandwidth and forums and all that stupid crap at the moment. Crazyness.

Should hopefully be a new comic up at some point tomorrow (Saturday) if anybody's interested.

Six (6)! But will any come back?

Post by Jaster! »

You can assume with a fairly good degree of certainty that anyone with "Jaster" in their title is probably me. Unless they're doing something stupid, in which case it's probably somebody else.

Well well. If ARG is really slowly starting up again are you going to call it version 3.0? You promoted 2.0 forever but that seemed to have died down after that long period lacking updates...

He'll just call it ARG '04 so we'll all buy his upgrades in 2005. He's devious like that.

Meh, the 2.0 thing was just tying in with the fact that it was an operating system commercial joke dealy. In my head the whole thing's been one version with a bunch of nasty hiatuses (as there haven't been any huge changes to the format, other than me gradually getting better at drawing).

But yes, eventually I'd like to figure out how to go into solid animations. I just haven't figured out how to do that yet.
