Wiebe the Musician

Post by Wiebe »

Yes, kids. It's true. Wiebe is a dedicated musician. Dedicated for what? Dedicated for life. For what? Who knows.

He's put together a little track called The Dangerous Experiment and has invited you to have a listen to it. The entire track was done with guitar (except for the drums), which is an interesting feat in itself. It's sort of a Techno-inspired (Techno Rock?) instrumental. We'll let Razi decide its real categorization.

my excuse was that I was at work.
I'm listening to (and enjoying) this little diddy now.

Makes me wish that I had an iota of your talent. Kudos!

I can't figure out how to download it.

Usually a window pops up, but all I get with this link is a frozen Windows Media Player window.

*sigh*

Creepy guys like me don't have to spend our time trying to be creepy... we just are naturally.

Thanks for your kind words.

I downloaded a little program called HammerHead... It's not the best drum machine, but its ease of use and ability to port the sounds to wave files is what sold me on it. Plus it's free.

Hmm....let's see. I have this on 'loop' as I type this...

Definate EBM (Electronic Body Music) influence. Some HardTrance rhythms...Acid Techno samples...

Its got the DnB style, with a good sampling of many genres, and there are as many genres as there are songs, but I, personally, would catagonize this as:

INDUSTRIAL EBM ROCK

EBM is a heavy and stylish variation of Techno. The heavy accenting and electric guitars, alonmg with the gritty samples definately label this as Industrial Rock.

This is probably summed-up better for outsiders as 'Hard Techno'.

Not too shabby.
Reminds me a bit of the industrial-esque stuff King Crimson was doing in the early 80's, but that's prolly cause I don't listen to the real thing. ;)

Hey Wiebe, purty nifty I must say. Very cool Mr. Man! (sorry, I just finally remembered to download it since I'm mostly on the boards at work and THOSE bastards don't have a sound card in my comp.!)

:D

I like the diving whammy bar sound in there. :D Do you ever post that stuff on other home recorder sites? There's some cool ones out there where people trade off downloading each others material and playing with it, etc.
