Remember when booger hopped on here to pimp his comic and wait for keenspace to be ready? That's the first I saw of "full of pointy teeth roundy head" things.

I agree with maybe half of that post. I wouldn't go as far to call Keenspot syndication, since I don't think any of the Keenspot artists actually make a living off the comic.

I am irked by Keenspot's policy of accepting only comics that publish 3 days a week. Quite a few Keenspot comics claim to be 3 times a week, but go for long hiatuses with no updates. Plus there are several comics on Keenspace that publish only weekly, yet still get more visitors per day than some 5 strips a week Keenspot comics.

Trying to change Keenspot by whining at them seems fruitless, I'm taking the grassroots approach of only linking to less popular comics in my newsbox.

I have a main links section where I post links to webcomics I like/read/feel deserve the slot. Them I have a link exchange where the only requirement is that you link to me too, but if the comic is something not even B**** C***** would read, or the artist doens't look like they're even trying, then they might get rejected. But I like to promote people! It's fun!
The funny thing, is that when I was a small comic, I set a goal for myself. Without asking or anything, I wanted to be linked to from Sexy Losers. In my head, that meant that I had "made it". I dunno why. But when he did link me, it was a really happy day for me. And along the way, I got linked to by some big comics like Exploitation Now and Ghastly's Ghastly Comic, which boosted my hits a lot. ^^ So, now that I get a lot of visitors, I like to share the wealth, ya know? ^_- give back to the "community" and what not.
Ok, I'll shut up now.

While there are some valid points in the original post of this thread that EVERYONE pretty much already knows, the idea that Keenspot is a "syndicate" controlling the webcomic community is pure, whiney, thick and steaming BS. Keenspot is not the end-all of webcomics, it's the tip of the iceberg. So, I tip my hat to the author of Escape for the ability to say obvious things and masturbate verbally.

Now, let's all break for tea and biscuits over at my comic! See? I can work a long post into a plug for me, too! 8)

I would link to you, but there are people who read my comic who would totally fly off the handle if I linked to a site that had pictures of (gasp!) naked women. Or even a sex shop period. There are serious disadvantages to most of your relatives being aware of your webcomic...

On the other hand, it gives me practice of that soul crushing politically correct-making syndication process that rant was apparently about. Or part of it... I guess. Oh no, better go check my logs again! I almost accidentally had a social life for a second there. Anybody wanna be on my *reads* giant... orgy of self.... linking... page.... promotional... hiatus?

Wait, what?

I like tea. As such, I shall go read EOI to have some tea...
Wait-is this a plug in disguise?

Of course not; I'd be paranoid to think so!

Ahhh...Iced earl grey... one of my 17 bazillion loves... ^_^
