Who's the dominant male in JPD's cell? (heh)

How long is it till JPD is freed?

What happened to Shae?

Where is Dylan's family?

Ooh, hooray for the process of question and answer!

Depends who you ask!
How long is it till JPD is freed?
Actually...until May 30th. I'm literally sticking with the one year from here. Partly to kick my ass into getting the storyline going.
What happened to Shae?
Dropped off at a random hospital, presumed dead. That's all anyone knows. That still makes me kind of sad. I mean, of course it's possible that she's alive...drifters don't have the latest medical technology to make sure, and it's the hospital's JOB to try and revive people. But for all intents and purposes, I'm going to say at this point that she's gone. I can never say never, but I'm wary of pulling out the Character Ressurection Card too often.
Where is Dylan's family?
Hmm, now that I think about it, all I've shown is his sister Sarah. She's older, wears glasses, is a university student, and seems to generally be responsible and know what she's doing. She's friends with Corey the psychology major, but has been getting progressively more and more annoyed with him.
It's been mentioned that they have another sister, Taryn. She's younger than both of them, and she lives there in town with her mom, who's apparently an alcoholic. More on both of them later.
Dylan's essentially dad-less. Their dad was some deadbeat that walked out like a decade ago.

Anything else?

1. What happened to the archvillian of toast?

2. How about 'Loose Plumbing'?

3. Oh, and seriously, what's Rufus' story?

Edit-4. http://coolville.keenspace.com/d/20020603.html - Why does this still exist?

Who? Me? Yumm!
2. How about 'Loose Plumbing'?
Will come and take you one day!
Naah, everyone secretly wants a swimming pool in their basement, don't they?
(Otherwise, no idea what you're talking about.)
3. Oh, and seriously, what's Rufus' story?
Let me guess.
Obviously someone who's grown up on the countryside and don't want to let go of his values. Heck, he doesn't even acknowledge existence of other value systems than his own. Then he's forced into town life, by his farm going bankrupt, by career or whatever it might be.
So, he's a loner, being so much at odds. Part by not accepting other values than exactly his own, part by not getting other values to know because he's so much alone.
Caught in a bad circle, it'll take a hero to get him out of it. One with the right personality. And heroes is hard to come by to begin with.
He doesn't really want to be alone, the chance is he wants company more than anyone. But he's built up so high walls around himself, neither he nor others can pull past it.

First rule: You can't ask about horrible old comics I did as a child, that I'm never letting human eyes see again!
Yes, young Kathleen actually drew a comic about a piece of toast that pops up from the toaster inexplicably evil and mutated. I remember his final, dying line was "Hey, stop, I'm only toast!"
"Loose Plumbing" was bad in its own right, too.
3. Oh, and seriously, what's Rufus' story?
Hey, I can't explain him much better than Dalhar did!
It's probably true that beyond his one-dimensional caricatured lawn-guarding exterior, he's kind of a lonely person.
Edit-4. http://coolville.keenspace.com/d/20020603.html - Why does this still exist?
Because I'm lazy!

Hey! Clowns always have a sad side to them.
But I say let's keep'em, have fun with them and get to know them, instead of just trying to be "politically correct" and leave them in the dark.
Can you imagine a fate worse than people trying to ignore you?

Being made fun of is a human right!
(Just be sure it's shared equally.)

Have you found any 404 lately?

On a more on-topic note, is this comic dolphin-friendly?

Since WHEN? ...I grew up with you!
And I'm happy to report that very few dolphins have been harmed in the production of these comics.
Coolville brand canned tuna, on the other hand, is another story.

I don't even remember the toast comic that well!
Was it the toastman that was allergic?

No, it was ProtoDylan who said it. His sneezing was what killed off the evil toasty menace.

Thus prompting, "Hey! I'm only toast!"

No, no, this was too early to have even the earliest, most poorly drawn incarnation of Dylan.
Although I believe you're right about the plot point.
Heh, but a little while later (maybe a year or two?) I made the first comics with extreeeemely early, younger Dylan...I remember doing one where he ruins his family's Thanksgiving.
I've had a lot of these characters in my mind for like a decade. Holy shit!

This was Darryl who said that. Of Darryl and Sally. I seem to recall Darryl eventually becoming Dylan, with a name changed from Codemaster's The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy. http://www.dizzyzone.org/misc/gallery/N ... DylanL.png

Then again, I think Dr. Lyyn Yarr of OMF 2097 unfame was the source for the name of YOUR Dr. Lynn.

I thought I told you to WATCH that turkey!
