Japan has long been known as the place with cool electronics you can't buy elsewhere, and I'm a sucker for gadgets. Last week I picked up a Zaurus C700, which is a Palm Pilot sized Linux machine with a VGA screen.

Dynamism imports them, but charges an additional $200 over the Japan price. There's an English version of the software in the works, but so far I'm getting by fine with the original Japanese.
The screen folds over so it can be used like a traditional Palm Pilot, which is great for reading NetherOak offline during my commute. It can actually play Divx movies too, but I need to buy some CF or SD memory first. Curse my Smart Media digital camera.

Since I got this I no longer need my old WinCE device, which I only used as a Japanese-English dictionary. Anyone want it? $150 shipped to anywhere in the US or Canada. Being able to just draw kanji into the thng is far more convinient than trying to look up radicals in a paper dictionary.
