No, I haven't gone soft. :-? I'm just here giving an announcement and wanting opinions. :)

Okay, after an ENTIRE trimester of not drawing comics, I have decided that I have enough time now. I plan to draw more comics for my website. But some changes shall be made.

First off, I plan to (re-)make my comic a "gag" strip. Reasons -- there are lots of comic writers out there that can keep a good story along *cough*Razi*cough* but I'm just not one of them. A lot of ideas for short pranks appear in my head that would be perfect for a gag-strip, but not for a continuing story. Also, gag-strips usually take less time to draw, and less detail. Not that I'm not good at that, though.

Of course, this gag-strip won't be some unfunny sheyat like what they put in the damn newspaper. It's gonna be hella funny, you just wait. But, for my first query...

1. Should this new and improved MiniBaka be realistically funny, or some impossible shiznit that will make you double over in laughter?

What I mean by this is: should the comic be an example of what happens in real life, or should someone's head be blown off every other strip for comical relief?

After some replies to the first inquiry, I'll post my next question.

You know what? I like it if it LOOKS like it might have some grounding in reality, but really is all shitzinfit. Think of it like this lil' cowpoke: Throw yer lasso around the steer, but the steer turns into a pineapple grenade.

Don't do the real life, there's too much "observational" humor out there. Fricking stretch ye olde imaginative funny bone and get ya gad-zooks out.

Damn rigth, slut.

No, this idea may not come to pass at all, and if it does, it shall not blossom unto sometime in 2004/2005.

*sigh* now I gotta slap ya.

I meant your story actually gave me a small bit of inspiration. That mixed with other things led me to an idea.

However, unlike some gurus, I will not draw two series' at the same time.

Seriosuly I think are too many goddamned 'gag' strips and it a rare occasion that they're funny.

Personally, I think Cup of Suffering is a metric fuck-load more funny than Penny Arcade. Even PA are at the point where they rely on a situation that is stupid for the sake of stupididty as a punchline.

I repect anyone that can conjur, enploy and maintain a story, wherether I like it or not.

I you wanna stand out from the crowd you can't tellt he same jokes everyone else does. 90% of webcomics are just high school/college kids who play videogames all day and crack wise.

If I wanted to see that, I'd observe my OWN life.

Go ahead and make a gag strip, but it had better be the funniest damn comic ever! EVER! YOU HEAR ME?!!?

Metric fuck-load?...

Tell ya what. I'll draw up a gag and post it in here. If you, Razi, deem it "funny," then I shall be on my way!

Or, Razi, can it be story-like, but not realistic?

Hint: think of my past two avatars, but drawn.

Hey nothing HAS to be realistic!

I mean how realistic are realistic comics? What IS a realistic comic?

Dude, do what will make you happy. I just gave you my opinion cause you asked for it. I don't think its fair that you base judgement on my discression.

I'm just a guy. 8)

Just so all of you know (Razi is the only one caring right now), that was going to be my next question: Humans or drawings of game sprites? (What a combo.)

But seriously, if doodling Burnin' Leo or BioSpark is THAT fun and THAT easy, shouldn't I try it?

Plus, it will make UnFan visit my site.

Hey, why not add both. Personally I'm not a fan of the comic relief/unknown animal thing/talking pet deal (I dub it the Gonzo Factor) but some people put it off rather well.

Remember Penny arcade's DIV? Or Family Guy's Brian? Or even, well, Gonzo! All wonderful characters.

DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY!
