I think I've said before but I live in England and I can say that the x-box is failing miserably over here, the usual comments are 'over priced', 'shallow games'(all graphics no substance), 'huge great block' (why the hell is it that big? it won't fit anywhere), 'its American' (sorry Americans but you're not that popular over here right now) and of course 'microsoft' (Washes mouth out with soap)

May I quickley add that I have nothing against Americans, I'm just repeting what a lot of people over here say, to be honest its not Americans in general that are disliked, its your president. (G.W.B is one American I do dislike, but then I don't like our P.M either)

But Saddam Hussein uses Playstations to power his SCUD missiles!

I don't think GWB is even all that popular in America. One of my Japanese co-workers asked me, "Do you like George W Bush? Because everyone at Cornell hated him."

Of course now, liking the president is part of bandwagon patriotism.

[rant time]Meh, from what I understand, its the hip and trendy thing to be a mindless drone, but its also hip and trendy to hate Bush, except the latter group of people think they're more free thinking for some unknown reason.

Its one thing to form a logical opinion, quite another to join it for the sake others do. Being an anti-Bush/America wanker is just as mindless as being a pro-Bush/America wanker. Just as it was popular to support America directly after the 9/11 attacks, now its popular to hate America's actions.

*Shrugs*

Such is the way with opinion. But I also think that nothing earns support like victory. The way America is going to be viewed depends on its tactical handling of the situation in Iraq. If it can avoid another bungle like last time and turn it into an overwhelming victory (or at least play it off that way), the current administration should be able to get some more kick out of the patriotism bandwagon, so to speak.

An regarding English opinions towards the U.S.; of course they hate Americans, but from what I understand, they hate most everything nowadays...the U.K. is in quite a but of a pickle as I understand it. Right now they're trying to decide whether to suck America's fat greasy corporate cock or the E.U.'s Hairy, STD laden Socialist French She-man cock. Not surprisingly, they're finding both options equally repulsive.[/rant]

Sorry for bringing politics into your forum Krow, I just found the topic a bit relevant.

Nah, I don't mind occasional political discussion as long as it has some thought behind it. I just hate internet discussions where personal attacks count as a thesis statement. That's exactly why I'll never draw a political cartoon. They're all basically mocking anyone with opposing ideas, no real discussion.

Some of the so-called internet debates devolve into baseless attacks. Instead of trying to find flaws in the opponent's logic, people resort to finding flaws in the opponent. Hypocrisy is a big one, the logic being that the instant a person expresses an incosistency in arguement, they are instantly a broken Turing machine and should be completely dismissed.

A question for the brits, is it true condom sizes are mandated by the government there? That all condoms must be precisely 56 mm across, or they're illegal?
