Unreal Tournament 2003 is a very new first person shooter, direct sequel to Unreal Tournament which came after the original Unreal(which I have heard was good, but never played).

It centers on you, a combatant in this arena style combat. It has about 10 or so very destructive weapons, from the humble, yet effective Bio-Rifle to the explosive Redeemer(which is a tactical nuke launcher).

My favorite feature that makes this game considerably better than its predecessor is that when you move on to team combat, you are able to manage your team, which you could not do in the original Unreal Tournament.

My first impression(as I have played for about an hour and a half) is that the game is a great game as FPS's go. If you like carnage, or explosions, or both of these at a frantic pace, you should really try it out.(man I sound like an Advertisement, and a bad one at that. )

UT2003 and its single-player relative, Unreal 2 (due later this year), also set new standards in physics simulation and graphical detail, as far as 3D gaming is concerned.

Yeah, UT2K3 and U2 have a really nice engine...

I can't wait for someone to make a game with it!

"Sailor Unicorn" was the VR game that Beth, Barb and Cecil were
playing some time ago. To cheer her up, they pursuaded Jenny to
join in as "Aurora Borealis: Queen of the Faerie Vixens"

Of course, technically the three giraffes already had 2 horns
each, so they were really playing "Sailor Tricorn", but that's another
story.

No, White Pony, I'm not suggesting anything about you -- a three-horned unicorn would be strange indeed, as well as being a misnomer.

One wonders what determines the "two to four" variation. Is anyone aware of any other mammal on the planet where the number of horns of a single species is indeterminate? And the Northern Giraffes might be considered to be "quintessential" in this regard.

Species. There is one species left of two-horned rhinocerous. The horn is made of chitin, rather than bone, but the issue of "true" was not as significant to me.

After all, the narwhal has a spiral horn -- almost always left-handed as I recall -- that has been passed off for hundreds of years as a unicorn horn. It looks like that, even on a living narwhal, but is actually a tooth.

This practice has had some effect, I imagine, on the number of Unicorns slaughtered for their horns.

Rhino horn -- a purported aphrodisiac -- is still being sold in Asia.

Side note: The Giraffe is considered, by far, the smartest artiodactyl (hoofed mammal).

Cecil is of a mixed breed of giraffe and so missed out on the option for more horns. Giraffes don't seem to discriminate between sub-species
when selecting their mates. I'm not at all sure what sub-spiecies of
giraffe has as long ears as he does.

As we know, surgical horn implants are available, but most giraffes
prefer to get along with what nature gave them in the first place.
Still, rock stars and other celebrities have been known to get
horn lifts.

I've asked the ladies if they have other horns concealed beneath
their coiffeures, but they've declined to answer. I suspect the only
person who knows for certain is their hairdresser... 8)
