[ANNC] Data should be back

The KeenSpace data was loaded from backups, so things should be back to normal. Any further problems with logging in, comic updates not working, missing data in the change data forms, etc. can be posted here.

now has anyone else had a probelm with sometimes the forum takes forever to load, or more to the point finish a post?

I've seen it take up to 3 minutes for a forum to load or to post. It's gotten better recently, Nate and STrRedWolf have been working on it.

It's good that its back! The auto fearture of updating is a bit buggy but with some tweaking it updates. My problem is sometimes for no reason it uploads a older version of my index page with the current comic on it! This has been happening throughout the lifespan of my comic. Now what I would like to know is how can I keep it from reverting back to an old index page and keep it the last new upload index page? Everytime it reverts back I had to go start the ftp and replace the index with my latest and then I go to my members page and hit the update "indextemplate.html" Anyway to fix that? Thanks.

You should only have an indextemplate.html in /workspace/ not /workspace/webpages, as this is what causes the "reversion" problem

This has happened to me twice over the course of one week. I have a comic updated MWF, and it takes 'til Tuesday for the Monday comic to go up. It's making me very sad, since I'm actually getting an audience now.

BTW, I'm ConScrew -- http://conscrew.keenspace.com -- if any techsters need to know that.

If it's the comic you want updated, make sure you select a time on the LEFT side of the screen in the member pages, as this will make it update at that time, in time for the next day. Select on the RIGHT only if you want to time-shift an entire day over.

My comic is Shigatsu Dream and Half of the time my comic page wont be there (i get the 404) And i hadnt done anything. And the other half of the time halfd of my images wont load, then they will....for no reason at all...I go and look at my ftp...and everything looks fine x.x...

Where do I begin? ~_~;; Archives show up as broken links, all comics show up as broken images, site refuses to update even when I try to do so through site admin, site can only be accessed through http://www.keenspace.com/~drywit (http://drywit.keenspace.com brings up a "non-existent site" error message).

All this when I'd finally figured out how to get it so I can customize my index page without it reverting on me! *siiiiiiigh...*

Also, my "next, previous" etc. links show up as text links even though I uploaded the images and named them according to the guidelines in the tagtorial.

I'm sure that some of this is due to these DNS sync things that have been going on, and some guy named Nate who appears to only exist in theory, but if somebody could maybe help me out a bit I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

well most of the problem IS the syncing...
but your images should be named first_day.gif not first.gif, that should solve the button problem
as for the rest try not to get bitter, i'm sure nate'll get to fixing it

also we should stop posting on an announcment (as temporary as it is)

My site stopped updating a few days ago, it won't go past the 18th. I've tried waiting for it to update, updating it manually...nothing works.

2) the comic on the front page, and the most recent one uploaded, is for 10/19/2002 . If they aren't making it from workspace, perhaps you have a missing symlink

2) Your content is very much there, see here: http://siteadmin.keenspace.com/~ojiru/ . Using the siteadmin backdoor breaks all correctly written links and images, but you can see it's there. This is the very old DNS problem which will be fixed at the end of the month, or you may kill Nate and place his head on a spike outside the colocation building
