daily template problems?

Post by Allanah »

Hi there,
I was wondering if I could get anyone's help with my site.
I've had it for a couple of months now, and had no problems what so ever.
Then yesterday, all of a sudden, one of my pages has disappeared. It's the second most current one. There's no way of accessing it. I re-uploaded it and everything. Besides that, the entire daily template has gone heywire. If I'm on the 4th to recent page of the comic the 'next comic' button sends me to the main page, and skips the 3rd recent and most recent. It does this only on these 4 comic pages. The rest seem fine.

Can I get some help? o_O

Thanks

I've had that happen a few times.

If a full update doesn't correct it, try going into your public_html/d/ folder and deleting the days that are screwed up. Delete them from public_html/comics too.

Make sure to delete your dailytemplate.html from your workspace directory and re-upload it to. Occasionally some FTP programs don't do a good job of over-writing a file if the time stamp on the newer version isn't 'after' the old version.

Make sure you've uploaded all the comics you've deleted to your workspace/comics directory.

Then do a full update again.

Give those a shot. If that doesn't work, and things don't clear up after the next regular update (i.e. tomorrow) then you might really have a problem.

Keen updater occasionally hiccups... and if it hiccups on your site, well, things get interesting.

It worked!
Thank you so much! I was getting so upset there considering I've seemed to lose everything this week. My cat, my mail and now my manga. It was just too much
I actually went and modified the dailytemplate file so that it was 'new' enough, and that worked right away ^_^
Thank you again

You can either run a full update or modify your daily template. A full update is alright in this case because you want to remake your archives and remaking the index and handful of other pages isn't too much extra. As for just modifying your daily template, you can do something as simple as deleting one letter, replace it, resave, and upload.
If it doesn't work, make it.
