People all over make web comics. They're (sort of) easy to do, but seeing as how this message isn't directed towards me I have no say about number 1. If you could show us this test comic then maybe perhaps we could give you a better reply, but you can't expect us to give you our opinion on something if you don't put it up.

Yeah, please don't mistake me for a pioneer in the field of sprite comics or anything. There are an absolutely OBSCENE number of sprite comics out there. Probably the most popular one is 8-bit Theater (http://www.nuklearpower.com), and as far as I know, it's the one that really started the whole sprite comic phenomenon. If Gamix.org were still around, I'd tell you to go there, but they're not...so...I won't. There's not a whole lot of advice to give when it comes to sprite comics, really. Just make your comics and have fun doing it!

Dude, Gamix came back a while ago. Go ahead and go there. Read Rodent Race, its cool. And just put the comic up here, I'd like to see it as well. And, if you haven't noticed, my site has comics too. That's got nothing to do with anything, but hey, I felt like advertising.

Anyways, I'll give you some special advice on making comics:

People like violence
People like funny things
People like nudity

Seeing as how you can't (shouldn't) do the last thing, go with the first two. Its what I did. Violence can be funny, and butt, like we had in our recent interview/conversation, J.

Lol, Bob and George was/is the first sprite comic. It says so on 8-bit Theatre.

Well, why don't you just use a blank page and upload them on? Instead of makin the whole site?

That'd give you stuff, copy it if you know what to do.

And they might be fuzzy cause you're saving them as JPGs, never do that, it sucks. ALWAYS use GIFs. They're the best for any kind of comic

Yep, Gamix just won't die.

Anywho, if you want to show us your comic go to Boomspeed and upload your comic there. Its only one meg of space, but that's ok. Its not like you're going be running your site there (or you shouldn't, I can't log in there half the time to change images and crap). Why haven't I put up today's comic on my site yet?

Argh, Austin Powers tunes have me hooked. I don't know why, I just love some of the music (talking about second one, basically).

What do you mean "how do I get to the blank page I just made"? If you just made it then you should definately know how to get to it, but if that's not what you mean (which I don't it is) then here is the other possible thing. You have to go to your website first, like Angelfire or something that uses html then put in that code.

Keenspace only allows you to post in GIF or JPG format. I don't know if this helps, but here's what I do: I make my comic in Paint, and save it as a BMP. Then I open it using a program called Image Expert and save it as a JPG, with the best possible resolution. It only comes out a little blurry, a lot less than it would have had I saved it in Paint. I don't know if you have Image Expert, but see if you have some other graphics program that lets you save in different resolutions.

If you know the URL of your comic, you can post it here using the "Img" BBCode. Just enclose the URL in the proper tags.

The Keenspace Help forum would be a good place to find all-purpose comic and Keenspace help. Just click on "Keenspace Forum Index" and go to the Keenspace Help forum (not sure if that's what it's called).

1) You don't NEED Photoshop 6 to make good comics. I use MSPaint and people tell me that my comic is good or "Cool Beans" (argh, I steal too much from fireflower). The only thing wrong with that is that the colors might get a little messed up or a tad blurry. Sometimes I use this to my advantage, however.

2) Yeah, extra tricks to look nice, but.. somehow I've gotten around that. The only thing I've done was make an animated comic 50 and 51

Now here's something I can help with. When you're enlarging sprites in Paint, use the "Stretch/Skew" function. Just change the percentage for horizontal and vertical stretch, and make sure you put the same value in both spaces (if you want the sprite to stay in proportion. Multiples of 100 work the best (200, 300, 400, etc.). If you use anything else the "bits" may come out slightly distorted.

If you would have applied for a keenspace account 3 months ago like I did you'd probably have one by now, like I do. I don't really know what I'm going to do with it, but maybe you could use it, if you didn't mind an url of coolbonesite.keenspace.com, and I'm pretty sure you would.

You could try an angelfire account, they accept people and I've been using it for mine. Also, I had a site a long time ago on maxpages.com, but I thought it really sucked, but I still love when I visit the page and look in the guestbook and see "Hey! Update you bitch" when I haven't in nearly two years. Whoops. There I go into something else again.. anyways, I think those are your best bets. Maybe you could try geocities, too. If worse comes to worse you could make a yahoo group and just put your comics in a photo album.
