Retroactive Nostalgia

On my way back from lunch today, the classic rock station here played the Timothy Leary song, by the Moody Blues. This got me to thinking about whether it is possible to have nostalgia for a time you weren't even around for.

While scientists and philosophers the world over may argue this point, I have come up with a term for it: Retroactive Nostalgia. I think this term perfectly captures the essence of the paradox of wanting to go back to a time you never came from.
