Who needs firearms? Destruction is so much more satisfying when done by your own hand... Next time anyone in an offspring shirt (or blink 182, or NoFX for that matter) tries to tell you you're not punk, just start singing the rezillos to them whilst bashing them about the head and neck with a crickett bat. I'm an american so I'd use a baseball bat. Ah, the one good useage for the tool of our nation's pastime..
"...Somebody's gonna get their head KICKED IN TONIGHT!!!"
I too do not know who originally did Tainted Love. I didn't like 80's music in the 80's and only find it marginally good now that I'm older. Actually the only non punk bands I follow with any regularity are Motorhead and old Jamaican Ska bands.
You want to talk about ignorance? Some ska kid was talking to me and said "Now I know the stuff now is called third wave ska, and the 2 tone stuff was first wave. but what was second wave?"
2 tone ska first wave??? WTF??? I swear it's like peopel don't know reggae came from the west indies. Then again most people don't know Rudeboys were jamaican gangsters, and the white kids that dressed and acted like them became mods then skinheads, etc.
Ok, right kickings all around!

About the recent Marylin Manson cover of Tainted Love.
And how the original was better.
Except they thought the original was by Tarrie B, who covered it in '99.
Upon returning to my home, I was promptly given a lecture by the neighbour's kid about how I wasn't punk.
This is an 11-year-old in an Offspring shirt, lecturing me about punk integrity.
These kids are damn lucky that firearms are illegal in the UK.
