Hey, you guys mentioned in the "Ugh is it over yet..." thread that we should post fan art, etc. while David is on hiatus - let's take it up a notch and do our own arc! Somebody posts the first one, and then another artist continues with the same character but a different plot twist, etc. Of course, we'll have to find a way to decide who goes first... All right, I'm thinking of a whole number between 1 and 100... whoever guesses closest (too high wins over too low if there's a tie for distance) gets to go first.
The main problems facing the world today are too many babies and not enough food. I think the solution is obvious.

Hey hey, calm down. Let's wait for Jack to go on hiatus. Don't post it now.

No one's hit it yet... When mostly everyone's had a pick, I'll reveal it and we'll see who's closest.

No, but thats a common misconception.
Deep Thought was constructed to, to mostly properly quote, "Find the answer to the great question of Life, the Universe, and Everything."

The answer to that question came to be "42."

At which point, the earth was built in an attempt to discover the actual question.

Oh, and as far as planning a "fan arc" goes, I'm for it, and it should be run as such, in my opinion:

Everybody who truly wants to write a day for the arc should post to a given thread(maybe this one, after a "posts start HERE" post) saying "I will write an installment."
Whatever order they post in should be the order in which the arc is created.
In order to keep people from contradicting each other, or working on things that may not flow, each person should wait for the previous person on the list to send them a copy of their installment before beginning work on continuing theirs, thus we can ensure continuity. There should, of course, be a time limit on working on your section of arc, like 1 week, before you forfeit your turn, so to speak. This should help it keep from stagnating if people get sidetracked by RL.
This is my idea, comments are welcome.
There would need to be a sort of staff meeting, so people can agree on a basic storyline which we will follow as a guideline.

Any limitations as per characters[i.e., 'only characters already introduced in the Jack universe,' 'only [x] angels, [x] devils, and no limit on mortals,' etc]?

Hmm, every arc has its own new character upon which we focus for that arc. I think existant characters shoudl play a part, for obvious reasons, but theres no reasons not to introduce one or two new chars, except for the possibility that many of the artists would have an easier time drawing and extrapolating the lives of characters that already exist.

Maybe it could be a "Dream sequence" kind of deal, where it won't effect the overall storyline in any way, and the various characters can intermingle in unique ways(like a What Does David Hopkins Dream At Night deal, but I'm just rambling my brainstorms)

What do you artists think about character constraints?

Well personally, I'm willing to take on just about anyone/thing... So.. I dunno. I guess I don't count, then. Whee!!

The most challenging part will be maintaining a continuity in each page's "feeling" as the portrayals of the characters' expressions as well as timing and stuff like that change. Hella! This'll be fun.
