Great to hear such a response. My comic strip I've realised will carry on the way it is. I've added a weekend thing where I do something special, so that helps. My characters are still insane. Its an effort to make them look them same every time but WITHOUT stopping groth and betterment in the look. All I know for sure is gremlin is getting smaller, Cindy is wearing less cloaths... and prof is begining to look neater. I've said all this because at the moment I'm waving a white flag, while Alex is holding a 9mm to my head and Cindy is threating me with a very big knife... not to mention what Gremlin is trying to bite off... SOMEBODY HELP!!!!

Sometimes I have an idea in mind, but then I have to change or cancel it because the characters simply wouldn't do or say what they're doing and saying.

Actually, this is one of my upcoming plotlines/discussions... Petitus is concerned that his character has changed since his initial creation, and I assure him the mutation/maturation of a character is normal over time.

Wow, people write comics using characters and ideas? Maybe that's why you guys have so many readers. I just sit down and let the comics flow. My characters also have lives of their own! Like James Earl Jones, Robert Downey Jr., Ronald Regan, Steve Martin, Bill Cosby, Leonard Nimoy, The Men in Black, and that's only in the last few days. Maybe I should have characters that appear for more than a panel... hm... nah. CRAZY!

I always like seeing cartoonists I enjoy commenting on such topics... neway. I'm letteting my characters go wild and the storyline which is starting to emerge is getting cooler. Some things they want to speed up others they want to slow down.

Tailsteak, I love the "rules" that aply to your characters. I've got a list I'm sort of devising. 1/0s characters evolve emesly... so for SA daily I've thought about each character IN DEPTH. And written out a summary of there traits... so I'm letting the comic get out of control on one condition none of the basic rules get broken. (unless there is a good reason).

Unfornatly for me Alex is piketing on my moniter refusing to follow the new laws. Oh look the police are applying some good old brutality... I think he understands now... wait whats that hes got there... OH MY GOOO*

That's interesting. Since I do an adventure comic that has a definate ending I already know the "lifespan" of the characters.

The characters really change very little throughout the comic. However the story has been evolving quite a bit as I rewrite it.

I want to think of it as story driven but I'm not sure I have the definition right.

You mean you can ACTUALY TELL THEM WHAT TO DO?
And whats a plot...

My characters where meant to follow this grand plan in my head but I fear I was abducted by aliens, because the grand plan has gone BYE-BYE

Carlos, the main character in my comic, is loosely based on me. He tends to get out of control every now and again. He even blew up my house in one comic!

But there are those cases when one of the personalities will take over. That's when I do my best writing.

"Gimme that cheese, you freak!" *does an Irish jig*

"AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!! Stoopid lawn gnomes!!!!! Just let me be!!!!"

well, both characters are based on me and char, and we look alike too... but really do you think it's possible to be put in a time warp and land on tim curry's couch? it's funny what we do to each other's characters though...

Well my one character Gremlim has devoloped a bunny complex and has started biting heads off (comics not yet publish). But yip ever since I've let my characters do their own thing well its been great. One of them broke the fouth wall recently... only for a moment but it wasn't intentioal on my part and the fact gremlin is threating to bite down hard has nothing to do with my saying all of these things and HE iS A...........

My characters are blatantly aspects of myself.

Chucko is what I wish I was, Bolo is treated the way I usually am by others, Sebastian is what I should be, and Frody's personality is basically an exagerration of my own.
