Sounds good, I hope to see you all there. Is there any other web comic artists other than Richard, Sarah and me coming?
I added the info to my newsbox on Makeshift Miracle, so we might have a few other people stop by just to say 'hi'.
It might also get you guys a little bit of extra traffic.
Jim

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
*curls up into little ball of shyness*
But seriously, I really don't think that's a good idea. I've been to geek meets, and most eating establishments really don't appreciate large groups of "fans". Waiters, waitresses of usual sunny dispositions turn ugly real fast, and you can forget those coffee re-fills. If it's too late to go back on this, I suggest we sit upstairs in the lounge.
[This message has been edited by Sarah Huntrods (edited 02-14-2002).]
Ah yes, the Diaperman guys and PixelFish. It is now official, I know too many webcomic authors - though Diaperman isn't technically a webcomic, it just gets scanned and posted.
Well, the funeral is on Saturday but the wake is tonight, and I have no idea if we (my S.O. and I) can make it to RR before, or after, the wake. All I can say is don't be surprised if we show, and don't be surprised if we don't.

------------------

Well.... I'll never go to Red Robins ever again. THe food was terrible and the service (of what there was) was amateur night.
As for getting together is was ... ummm ... let's say: we have to do this on a regular basis. And you have to make it down for the next one, Rudi.
We talked about a lot of interesting stuff: comics and business and other stuff too. THe only one that wasn't there was pixelfish. I forgot to invite her. I'll remember next time.
As for who came: There was me, Acelin, Sarah and her friend, Jim and a couple friends, Michael and Derek (The Diaperman guys) and Kyle who has a new comic called Snowball in Hell (on Keenspace).
ick! I'm still burping up that burned piece of charcoal they called a burger.
Jim says they have a comics thing at Conversion. They may have a webcomics forum or something this year. Something to look into. I guess. I think it may scare the con people if we showed up as a mob of our own... hmmm... that could be a good thing.

The food was as I expected. Red Robin's is middle of the road when it comes to such things. The service...well...they served me just fine... but I did find it shameful the way they treated the others. I don't know what the staff's problem was. It was busy, but not that busy.
(Of note: The one at Sunridge is much better...)
It was nice to meet a few people and talk and the like. While I am not a webcomic artist, thanks to lacking two things (talent and inclination) it was a very educational experience. I got to drool over art, have some good conversations.....
All in all, I'd do it again. As long as y'all don't mind a complete idiot tagging along again.
(it was just weird making the connections. Talking to my friend known as Cavelier afterwards... I mentioned who I had met...turns out he's known Michael for a lonnnng time)

Everyone has known Michael for a long time. That's his shtick. Then again, I think the only one of you (who was there) I haven't met is Richard.
Sorry the S.O. and I didn't get a chance to stop by; the wake was... depressing. We should definitely do it again sometime. How's next month for everyone?

Kyle here, (one half of the Snowball in Hell team)
I know I had to bail early but I loved the get together, I could definatly be down with making it a regular or even quasi-regular thing. And next time Mike might even make it (the other half)

Yeah! I'm definitely up for that!
Oh and I checked out your comic, even though there's only one page up, I'm interested already! It's looking good!
Oh, and if you use the ubb tags for url around your comic link, people can click on it instead of having to copy/paste
