Just posting a quick hello to help assuage Zubby's feelings of Toronto abandonment.
Having seen some of his earlier works, I have always liked Jim's style. Hoping to see some Red Hand Ninjas make an appearance along side Colby in an upcoming page
Also nice to see so much obvious work going into each effort. Looking good!
Also nice to see Cornflake (Flacon) in the mix! Good to see you active G! Consider this my shout out! Just added the forum to my faves and will be posting more often. So will talk to you soon.
Great work on Makeshift, Jimbo!
Stu
------------------

It most definatly was NOT an evil plan. Only cornflake has those. MY plan was pure and righteous. The epitomie of good. Which is why I'll win in the end and he'll just have a footnote of honorable mentions (honorable mention for best evil villin in a good triumphs scene, honorable mention for best evil plan, honorable mention for most likely to succeed at evilness etc).
What what what is this madness you speak of Jim There is no madness here. Only the tick tick ticking of the tuna fish as it winds it's way down the lamp post to the bread shop. The orchids are such a lovely shade of plaid, if only they wouldn't play with the roof kittens. It wounds them so.
See perfectly normal in it's normalness. Your just upset cause you weren't the faithful sidekick who got to put the transducial on cornflake.
Cornflake! Put that disentigrator ray down right now young man! They'll be no reducing of persons to goo in this forum!

The quality of one's life can be measured in the number of nemesees one has. (Let us ignore the fact that a person can only have one, and only one nemesis at a time despite the fact that nemesis does in fact have a plural; although I'm more than certain that's for gramatical syntax as opposed to actual plural per se.) The point being:
Ah ha! Disco Stu! I see my old nemesis has returned! Including Jim and Chickstyle that's three on this forum alone. It was foolish of you to fall into my cunning trap of trapy good(evil)ness! Ha-Hah!
Good to hear from you Stu. I'll be cool to see what other forum posters Jim's emails dig up. Keep postin'....
G.

STU!
Great to hear from you. Watch out for the tiny angry-faced Cornflake messages, they're filled to the brim with the joys of Bitrex.
Bitrex (c)- The fictional most bitter substance on Earth.
But that's okay, we like him anyways
I've gotta get ol' Simon from TO posting on this forum too, that would be far too much madness for one message board to handle.
------------------

Heh,
Sounds like we should have a nemesi of cornflake party soon. Cornflake racks up nemesi (I'm guessing on the plural of that one) like most guys hord tools. They've got far more than they could possibly need but they just keep on collecting em. It may have to do with the tranduscial evil emitter locater I stuck on his back one night after trading taunts with him while bounding over rooftops and small kittens (they lurk up there let no one tell you otherwise). I lost him after he crashed into one of the aformentioned kittens of doom. Well good ol cornflake is the kind of evil doer you don't want to lose for to long or you have to go back to playing mumblety peg by yourself while the transients wander by mumbling to themselves about the "rain of kittens and all things evil" which incidentily enough is how I found him again.
So I devised a cunning plan(copyright pending) which I shall now reveal for gloating purposes only (all rights reserved some restrictions apply). I *ahem* used the momentary confusion caused by his body hitting the pavements (yes plural dammit those kittens are not to be underestimated!) to call forth a faithful sidekick to hand me the emitter where upon I stealthly hid it somewhere on his person. MWAHAHAHAHA-ha-ermmm *ahem*.

Just a quick note to add to Chickstyle's evil plan.
I am NOT the evil sidekick mentioned in her ramblings. I have no idea what she's talking about. NO IDEA
She's mad, mad, MAD! Mad I tell you. With a bit of madness sprinkled on top!
------------------

Fear me, for I have returned to set right (in an evil sort of way) what has been wronged:
Jim, for the love of God: Bitrex is REAL. I mean, really real. It's an actual chemical additive used in cleaning products to reduce the chance of some idiot child drinking a bottle of Draino (tm). I'm not kidding.
Also, it courses through my veins.
As for the rest of you misguided do-gooders and Stu: the Destro to my Cobra Commander; the Starscream to my Megatron: Beware! I have nearly enough kittens to power my Esparontotatron (c)! Once activated the world will suffer to speak only a ridiculously fabricated language! (No, not klingon...) Bwa ha ha hah ha hahah!
To the Cereal Isle of Evil!
G.

Esparonto was an invented language created to provide the world with an international dialect that everyone could easily learn. Because it wasn't associated with any given nationality, it was hoped that it would be easily embraced by all cultures. Unfortunately, it never caught on and lives now only in the minds of hobbyists and the curious.
Apparently my joke about an Esparontotatron confused Izanobu thoroughly, resulting in h(er) silly notion of an entirely english speaking world. How would a kitten powered Esparontotatron teach people english anyway??? For that I would obviously require an Anglobalatron powered by puppies.
First Bitrex and now Esparonto. What's wrong with you people?
G.

On a note completely unrelated to super-villainy....
Hey Jim,
Nice job on today's strip! Uber-simple composition and panel arrangement that conveys some awesome dialogue and plot advancement. I love this stuff. I also love the creepy 'cordless' phone: great idea. Keep up the great work!
Back to super-villainy: Curse you all! My attempts to foil Izanobu ruined by equinine interference and myopia! (A girl? Really? *blink, blink*...Where did those Spectacles of Evil (tm) get too....) Crap. Next time Gadget, next time....
G.

Thanks, Flake. I had originally planned to have a background for the panels, but ditched it in favor of focusing on the dialogue more. I was worried it might not work, but was pleased with how it ended up turning out.
My favorite panel on this one is the second one where he's looking around with the phone in his hand. The expression came across the way I wanted it to.

quote:

heh... it isn't like i hold sanity too dear either.

on a different note... equinine? hmmm... i know what you mean by that... but the word itself is really funny... sounds like a brand of horse bleach or something. "Get the white stallion you always dreamed of as a child with Equinine (r) the horse safe bleach... *in fast quiet voice mode* (mild to severe side-effects include but are not limited to: nausia, vomiting, hair loss, hoof rot, runny nose, heart disease, skin cancer, insomnia, bleeding, convulsions, loss of apetite, and death)" i have been up for many hours. probably why i think this word is funny. meep.
don't feel too bad about the mistaken gender... it isn't like you would have any idea i wasn't male unless you know, you like read my comic or knew me personally or anything. and i know you don't know me in person, or the mistake would never have been made... i have female written across my body in large...err...text...yeah.
good night everyone. (ok, it is 8am, but sleep for me now)
wait, i lie. the point of this post was to say i like the page today. i was beginning to wonder if we were going to get somewhere anytime soon (i am impatient... always getting to be the writer does that, i know what is going on, but then i read things that i don't know and i feel like i should, you know?)... i like the nice surreal feel to today's page. ok...sleep now. really.
------------------

Welcome to the family (er as it were and all) Izanobu. Don't mind flake just trade quips with him and foil his evil. It's what he secretly wants anyways. You've proven the depths of your madness and are more than ready to join the board insanity!(THPT yes I'm aware she's already been posting for sometime now...but that was different. So there :P)
*Dances out of cornflakes reach and vision waving the spectacles singing "His eyes are dim, he cannot see, she stole his specs away teehee, she stole his specs away from him you seeeeeeeeeeee"
Come faithful sidekick JIM! Evil never sleep it just takes really long naps occasionally after it's pulled one to many all-nighters in it's quest for more evil and those little crackers that taste ever so good with cheese that you can just never find except in groceries stores that exist on the other side of town and are open till 4am.
To the Ba-ahem, to the house of madness!

ok...to clarify a couple things here
1) I am definately female.
2) I took what you said and tore a bit completely out of context in order to make a joke about the english language. obviously the point was completely lost and the joke therefore not funny. oh well, i live mostly to amuse my horse, not you people.
*whistles* "learned my lesson well, you can't please everyone, so ya' got to please yourself"
------------------

Hey everybody,
Never one to stand idly by when something useless could be accomplished, I've decided to up this thread's count by at least one more.
So a merry Christmas to all and may merry it be. I'll be on the road to Ottawa tomorrow to visit the ol' fam-damily and grab my share of the Christmas loot. Together we'll sit under the tree and celebrate the true spirit of of the season: The birth of Santa Claus.
Best wishes and love,
G.

When will you learn that you cannot escape me? One day, I shall destroy you once and for all. Of course, first I shall place you into an elaborate and easily escapable situation and assume everything goes to plan.
Jim.
