Straw poll: The Helmet

I personally believe that the "helmet" in question is actually a highly evolved alien life-form that, through various alien anatomies, has attached itself to Man-Man's brain and feeds on the neurological energies that it gets by playing old "Dukes of Hazzard" reruns in his mind's eye. <P>Of course, I'm also open to the possibility that it's just a hat and he's a loon.

Just trying to get a grip on how readers perceive Man-Man for a bit of writing I'm doing. <P>Other than the Sept. 12 strip (which was understandably out of continuity and not "canon," as much as we have a canon), Man-Man has displayed a certain willful ignorance to the fact that he's wearing a human-head-resembling-helmet despite the fact that Paul's been pointing it out.<P>I'm trying to figure out if he's honestly NOT AWARE that he's wearing it any more, or if he's just obtuse (sort of like wearing your glasses on your forehead).<P>What do you all think?<P>------------------
