1. All sorts. Classical (especially modern classical. I love Bartok and Henry Cowell), rock (Primus, Ministry, White Zombie, Los Straitjackets, Joe Satriani, Dick Dale), hip-hop (The Pharcyde, Digital Underground, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Kool Keith (aka Dr. Octagon, aka Black Elvis, aka Dr. Dooom), Aim, just about anything on Ninja Tune), electronic (Amon Tobin, Dieselboy, Thee-O (the LA rave scene's master of Trance), R.A.W., Tabla Beat Science), jazz (Wes Montgomery, Don Ellis, Vince Guaraldi, Robert Graettinger, Herbie Hancock, Sun Ra), blues (Elmore James, Magic Sam, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy), dub reggae (Asian Dub Foundation, Sly & Robbie), traditional Japanese music (Kodo, anything with shakuhachi), etc...
2. IRL, yes. Repeatedly.
3. Not really.
4. Also not particularly, although I have been know to huggle shleb on occasion.
5. #avalon, #crfh, #webcomics, #4toontellers (all on Nightstar)
6. 21
Can I add one?
7. Do you practice a martial art? If so, what style? If it has ranks, what rank?
I'm a 4th kyu (orange belt) in Shodokan style Aikido. So far it's my only martial art, although I'd like to try kendo, iaido, naginatado, and hojojutsu.
BTW, hi! This is my first post on this forum.
------------------

Damn... I guess I'd better answer these now
1. I like a lot of music, focusing around the heavy/alternative genres. I will listen to almost anything once, with the exception being any manufactured band, can't stand that sorta thing
2. Yes, both IRL and online, I have also beaten people round the head with many no-inflatable objects
3. Not overly.
4. Again, not overly although I've been keeping bad company of late
5. #IdleBanter is about it, I've gotta head into #4tt one day to see what the fuss is about
6. 500 board feet
7. I practise no martial arts, just don't have the time to get into any right now. I do however own a set of throwing knives, which I see to be getting quite good with

Well, I'll answer for both myself and my alter egos, BLives2000 and Sexy Man of Sydney (although he hasn't signed on yet, the slacker...)
1) Anything with a lot of bass. Metallica in particular. (I'm sure evenstar will tell you all about the Bombfunk MC's concert so I won't go into that now...)
2) No. We've ran over people in tanks, blown up stuff with previosly mentioned tanks, put people in black holes (evenstar, you stole my gimmick), whacked people with our weapons (Me: maraccas (see sig below), the Pok

1. Anything that's not crap. *grin* I'm a jazz and classical artist myself. But I also like to listen to many different types of music from anything ranging to Rachmaninoff to Depeche Mode to Yo-Yo Ma to Yellowjackets to Enya.
2. I suppose that my flyswatter doesn't count as inflatable. *sigh*
3. Only when provoked.
4. Of course I am!! *flutters lashes*
5. Gah. I've stopped IRC because I'm already far to social online and offline anyhow.
6. 2.718
7. I don't! *sob cry wail* But I'm an avid musician. Ask me about that. *halo*
8. Gaaaaaah. I usually don't watch them. (I'm so deprived. I know.)
------------------

I don't nearly spend enough time on my instrument(s). *sniffly sniff* But I do try! Really!
Favorite composer? *cringe* I have to pick one??? Okay. *breathes* Well I think that I would have to go with Rachmaninoff. (Gotta love those Russian guys!) His 3rd Piano Concerto is simply amazing. I hope to play it someday. (Yea yea .. dream on, girl)
For performance, I prefer romantic or neoclassical. I can't do baroque for some reason. Simply wouldn't do the music justice. I can play it well with all its jovial lightness but the focus is on the ornaments that I have trouble with. (My technical skill is lacking from lack of practice.) For listening, I will listen to anything that suits my mood. What's currently playing on my track is an old folk tune back from the island (Taiwan) set into variations on piano. It's a very sad tune, but sweet as well.
Tangent: I LOVE folk music. Every year, I am part of Revels, which is a musical company that explores the folk music of rural America and brings it to life on stage. My current craze is the Scottish ballad, "The Ballad of Tam Lin".
I think that microtonality opens entire fields through which music can be explored. Several years ago I've talked with Jon Appleton up here at Dartmouth about his work in microtonality. He plays with your ear, drawing you in to listen more carefully to the notes. The ear is a surprisingly senstive to sound. It's a whole another art like what you find at DiK. It's not a ballad but sound in art - music.
Personally, I don't think I can follow in the new field. Just not for me. My musical muse has been rather absent these past few years anyhow. I've been rather busy in the world of web design now so I don't think I have time to write music, design pages, and have a mangeable social and family life as well.
Alternate tunings? That's something I'm not very familiar with but I THINK that you're talking about the alternate tunings for guitar and such? Heh. I know nearly nothing of the topic. Sorry. *sniffle* I've disappointed. Hehehe ..
Man. I wrote a lot, didn't I? Hahaha ..
------------------
