Black & White .vs. Color

I was thinking about whether I should make my comic full color. Right now it's just not possible as it take me way too long to color anything.<P>But, eventually I might consider doing this.<P>What do you think ? Would Ban the Basics! make a good color strip ? ( Is it even a good B&W strip <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif"> ? ).<P>You can see an example of how my comic would look colored at the other comic I'm doing <A HREF="http://wallimerxp.keenspace.com">here</A> or the Sunday comic I did back on <A HREF="http://banthebasics.keenspace.com/d/20011028.html">10/28</A>.<P>You can email me if you don't feel like or want to post to the forum. Sure, I would like to see the comic in color everyday. There are some people that prefer black and white, but I think the vast majority prefer color. In fact, I've lost quite a few readers since switching to black and white...but changing the comic altogether may have had something to do with it as well.<P>On the other hand, I know how much time this adds to the process. Maybe you could do a color comic every Friday or Saturday.<P>Another option is spot coloring. Color just the characters or certian important aspects of the panel. This would add color, but reduce the time it would take to do a full color comic.<P>Just some thoughts. Shoot, I may jump in and do full color, too. Plus, I'd be interested to see how my characters look.

I've been thinking about adding a Sunday color strip making it a true daily comic.<P>I've want to do this for the longest but I've had problems coming up ideas for strips in a larger layout.<P>I started working on my other two comics V-Dom and Wallimer to get use working comic book format and so far it hasn't gone too bad, but not good either as it takes me almost a whole day to draw, edit and color a 11x17 comic book page or a 11x14 page which is a size of a Ban the Basics sunday strip. <P>tdev

Groovy!<P>Even though I'm one of those that prefer b&w dailies and colour Sundays, BtB would be a good one to see the dailies coloured.<P>Have you given any thought about submitting BtB to the syndicates? No prob, TD. I was thinking about submitting Fergo and Enrique. But after some consideration, I don't think I'm ready, either. I'm having enough trouble keeping it updated as it is.
