Yesterday, I had 495 pageviews for my site. That's a new record for Vicious Lies. I know that doesn't necessarily mean 495 people -- I'm still not sure if there is a way to track the number of individual browsers examining my humble comic -- but wowzers. 495. That's almost 500.
I also received a new logo from my older brother, Matt. I've ftp'd it into my random access list, and I'm hoping to see it appear soon... I'm also hoping it fits on the page.
Lummox, I'm gonna start asking you for some html help pretty soon, I think. I've never used the HEIGHT and WIDTH tags, and so I'd like to know how they work before I fiddle with 'em. For example, do they crop the image or resize it? Can you "maintain proportions" or do you have to figure that out yourself? (And so on.)
--Strange/Dave
------------------

Wowzers.

I believe you have to figure out proportions for yourself, otherwise you will have some severely distorted looking images.(unless one o those fancy page makers has that ability??) And to use the tags to resize smaller is a waste of time, because the image is still the same amount of space and time to load.
~dave
------------------

I don't think specifying just height or just width will keep proportions. Specifying either or both will stretch, not crop the image.
The easiest thing for now is to take every image you have and simply load them up to find out what width and height each one has. Then stick that in the image tags. (Later it's easier to just make all images of a certain size, so most of your comic panels could be the same size for example.)
Width and height go right within the tag, before the closing bracket.
I should see if there's some way I can send you a copy of Paint Shop Pro 4.1. It's an older version, and there's one bug in it (disappearing toolbars) that particularly gets in the way at times, but it has the ultra-convenient advantage of still working after 30 days. It's a million times better than MS Paint, too.
Lummox JR
------------------

I'm not sure if you noticed, Dave, but right now you're listed as a Damonk discovery in Framed!, too.
Lummox JR
(No wait... that never happened.)
------------------

Yes, I've thanked Damonk a while back. Actually, Damonk and I have a great idea in the works... but it's top secret, hush-hush. Giving me links, my comic shall thrive.
--Strange/Dave, dangling hints and participles like simile deleted due to overly disgusting imagery

------------------
