So much in this game makes no sense, but most of all, flying. Now, I'll let the fact that a leaf gives you the racoon tail slide. But since when does having a tail enable you to fly?? I personally have never seen a racoon careening through the sky wagging its little tail. It just makes no sense! I'm not even gonna get started on how turning into a tooth thing lets you skip levels!------------------

Ah , but it is the Magical Tooth of the Ages ! It reduces your Saving Throw vs Message Board Conversations .. or it's just a big smiling cloud that allows you to fly past a level and get to that mushroom house full of goodies . ------------------

It's not just the tail. It's a combination of the tail, the ears, the spread arms, and the magical powers of the leaf itself. You can't see it, but Mario has to keep the leaf in his pocket to be a raccoon, and when he gets hit it falls out.What always bugged me was the Starman. How does that thing bounce?!------------------

Well , it's made of rubber , and when Mario touches it , it explodes and encases him in Rubber that contains tiny needles of steroids , which allows him to caper about and make things go ouch when he hits them with his head .Or it could be some magical crap like you said .------------------

Hmm.. NOt sure here but I think Tanooki was Japanese for raccoon or something. I remember reading somewhere it was some japanese word...and also, that's not a tooth thing that allows your warps. It's actuallt a Magic Cloud of Destiny (tm)

Yes, yes... It LOOKS like a tooth. This coming from the boy who, when playing MegaMan 2 in his youth, misread 'Heat Man' as 'Meat Man,' consequently percieving the reddish-pink brick walls as carved blocks of ham.Super Mario Brothers 3 makes perfect sense at 3:30 in the morning!
