Assuming that readers of my little comic are drawn to it thru their love of music...
What are your favourite bands?
What do you class yourself as;
Metal-head, goth, alternative?
What do you think of the current music scene?
I'm simply dying to hear from y'all...
------------------

Right,
Faith No More(!), PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Pixies, Nirvana, Marilyn Manson, Pumpkins, Stooges, Girls Against Boys, Suicide(early synth-punks) & the Manic Street Preachers (one of the biggest bands in Europe, can't get arrested in the States!)
I tend to like bands that can be heavy one minute & poppy the next.
I don't really like most nu-metal, though the Deftones are pretty good.
Queens of the Stone Age are awesome & their precursors Kyuss are one of the most underrated bands of all time- the missing link between metal, grunge & blues.
I'm with Fracturtle on the early 90's being a great time for music.
Over in the UK it's all Eminem & Limp Bizkit at the moment, not really my thing, though there's some encouraging things happening at the fringes (anyone heard of Texans; At The Drive-In?).
I'd probably say I'm a hybrid of rocker, metaller, punk & alt-kid.
It seems that perhaps musical tribes are a little less defined & more likely to mix now, (perhaps they feel united by their antipathy towards the mainstream?).
------------------

Travis Tritt and Stevie Ray Vaughn head up my list.
I'm also very fond of Offspring, White Zombie (in certain moods), Sublime, Nova Machine (they rock), Stone Temple Pilots!!
Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden (I'm a sucker for grunge, I may be the only one who misses the '90's this much), Bush, Alice in Chains, etc.
On the other hand Grateful Dead (JERRY!!), Janis, Jim, Jimi, Drumcircle (oh yeah!) and it's more advanced relative, trance and techno. Enigma, Dead can Dance (emphasis!), Glen Danzig's "Black Aria" is killer chess playing music!
Well, that's a pretty long list, hadn't even got into country and folk yet. That should do.
------------------

Manics rule! My wife and I saw them in concert here in Chicago, and they blew the roof off the place. I also like Muse, Weezer (hey, don't make fun of me), Tom Waits, Queen, Supergrass, Super Furry Animals, Skunk Anansie, G Love and Special Sauce, Fugazi, NOFX, Beach Boys (post Pet Sounds) High Llamas and the Flaming Lips. I know there's more, but that's all that comes to mind right now.
Totally Awesome strip, by the way. I'm Linking you Monday.
~Caleb
------------------

That's a really tough one for me, one minute I need my 80's fix, and the next I want trance or techno...
I like everything from Metallica to the Dixie Chicks, Jewel to The Cure...
When I need a loud driving beat I look everywhere from Faith No More to Guns N' Roses, Queensryche, ...sometimes I need the mellow rythm of the Eagles or Journey, Enigma, Portishead, Dead Can Dance Counting Crows, (when I was 13 I liked Menudo, but I'm over that, and Ricky Martin can kiss my bee-hind! )
By my list you can see I can't really clasify myself I'm just a music lover!! Gimme Music! ANY music!
oh yeah, and as always, Andy (I'll say it again, and bore you with it 'til the end of time...) You artwork blows me away! I love it! WOW!
------------------

I notice various refernces to Dead Can Dance. Have to admit, I don't know anything about them, they don't get any coverage over here in the UK.
Oh & Faith, I never get bored of compliments, (hey, I'm a shallow kind of a guy).
Thanks!
------------------

Goin' to see Travis Tritt tonight at Sam's Town! Not that I expect anyone to be envious (country, ewww!). But, he closes out my 'must see' concert list!
I've missed him twice before in Vegas, but not this time!
We're going to go out there and camp out Stones-style in line so we can sit up front.
T minus 8 hours, but who's counting?
------------------

Heard some of his stuff the other day, though as you can imagine, country has a very much minority audience over here.
Enjoy the show.
------------------
