And I'm being evil again. Today's strip (that showed up late, bad Alex!) is the only one you'll get this week. The school issue got me down, I've been to town more than I've been home, got most of my Christmas shopping done, so on, so forth. My apologies.<P>*g* Seeing as most of the plot is subconscious, clues may or may not be invisible. And, in some cases, they may be directly misleading. <P>*frown* Age... You're not asking easy questions, are you...?
Wendy would be, oh... twenty-something, tops. My timeline's in a notebook my friend borrowed, I think, so I can't check to get a better clue, but she's tops in her mid-twenties, not older than 26. She's known Shadowrose for ten years or so, approximately.<P>Hmm... Lifespan... I had thought about that, really, I had... Lesse...
Typical human lifespan would be around fifty, about where it lay in the medieval ages, life's pretty hard. Hasn't stopped the rare individual *ahem*Sah's grandfather*cough* from growing considerably older.
Faerie lifespans would be somewhere up towards 1-2 millenia in human years, if they get a natural death. Considering the war between them and human that's been raging, and the prejudices and racism that still lives, few reach that age. And... Their culture plays a part in it, too. Cruel death sentences are common-ish.
Those partially faerie get a lifespan somewhere in between the two, longer the more faerie blood they have, and longer for mages than for ungifted.
Do note that even as there are quite a few half-faeries in PH, they are relatively uncommon, faeries, and especially female faeries, are all too often sterile to waste valueable blood like that. Of course, they don't know that it's their warrior rites that disturbs hormone production and makes it so hard to produce offspring.
Hrrm... And, because I'm posting, anyways, can as well go further into lifespans...

Well, the episode's <B>quite</B> a good one. (I'm somewhat surprised, though not amazed, that Shadowrose doesn't appear to have heard of the Silver Guardian- I'm not going to take his word that he hasn't *g*- after all, I can't really think of a reason for him to have heard of. I like Irooz's second response in the second panel *chuckle*- from generic to particular... Not to mention, erm, "those incidents". Right... I wonder if anyone will ever get more specific than that! (I.n.C. is the abbreviation, if you've heard it before...) My very considerable sympathy, in any event. And this reader will just wait patiently for the next instalment, is all- what must be, must be.

The first interaction we see 'twixt Nequii and Irooz, is the episode where Nequii is also foxnapped (whatever the appropriate expression is. Yes, I'm taking a brief break from packing, etc. to write this...)
And Irooz apparently recognizes Nequii, though she hasn't seen him in years, since before the Curse, since before Nequii changed much, I presume (I assume Nequii wasn't furry before the Curse- or perhaps, since his father is U., he indeed very much <B>was</B>?? A thought, that, and one I might have pondered. Rather. Do we see something much more like his true form in that lovely image when Sylver rescues him ("<B>Then Go.</B>", or is that just one of the shapes he takes under the shapeshifting of Camael's Concurrent Curse (agh!!alliteration!!!!)?) -hrm.<P>Just wondering, to summarize and allow me to finish packing (.tgz! *chuckle* sigh, once a, always a. right. sorry.) - I'm wondering how Irooz recognized Nequii despite his changes. If pressed (schissel-horsie pancake! erm... actually, given the origins of the expression, not such a funny joke...) I find two things occur to me, one a thought, one a speculation I'd rather not have answered but just... register that I <I>have</I> asked it, if my meaning is clear <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif"><P>speculation first. I warrant that Illdyr is being introduced, assuming not for a brief storyline at this point, so that he can become part of a PH storyline at a later point- which would <B>probably</B> mean bringing him into Haven- which usually is reserved for Paladins, I'm gathering... (and deities, but I rather don't think he...) (although... hrm! I can think of exceptions, besides the ambassador. Such as, e.g., a replacement to the ambassador. Hopefully not...)<P>Thought, then- from the little one gathers of Illdyr's personality (actual, not projected) ... he seems (on first - well, second, counting comments in OMW- glance, and that's a horrid indicator, and well I know!) almost as ill-suited for Paladinhood as Rey (ok, harsh.) Dec. 23rd: <I>Very</I> nice new episode.
Though at the moment I am thinking, that memory scene raises... more questions than it answers.
(<B>And</B> wondering... how often before have we seen renderings of Shadowrose before the Curse? )
Interesting episode, then, too... and I, anyhow, do think, very well worth the wait, in content and in art (drawing and inking.)
